You can have the best content in the world, but the only way people will see it is if you start submitting it :p

No article submission to directories is a waste, the backlinks hold little value. It was viable a few years ago but now it's not worth the time. Hows this for a novel idea, write content and publish it on your own site. It will bring you more links, traffic and recognition in your niche in the long run. Do you think the high traffic and high PR sites write content and submit it to article directories? No of course not they publish it.

But hey, i own a couple of big article directories so if you want to continue filling my sites with content while i sleep so i get lots of traffic and advertising revenue go for it.

sweetfunny very interesting comment on submitting to the top 400 article directories I have a feeling that go-articles still holds a lot of power per article what remains a hidden secret is submitting to the search engines"" any word on this is great"

Article Submission is part of SEO, it is a way of increasing your search engine ranking..

    Here's how article submission works:

    - You’re an expert in your field so you possess knowledge that other people want.
    - You write a helpful article – sharing your hard-earned knowledge and expertise.
    - You submit your article to recognized 'Article Submission' sites on the Internet.
    - Publishers of online newsletters, ezines, etc. gather content from these sites for free.
    - Helpful, well written articles are snapped up by thousands of publishers from all around the world.
    - The only condition is that they must publish the article with a functioning link to your site.
    - 300 people publish your article – you get 300 links back to your site

I think we're missing a key factor here. Articles are not only going to build backlinks, but they also build reputation. The more people see your articles and comments the more they will regard you as an expert in your field. I think that's the biggest advantage of article submission.

    Hello,

Really I do not know if today article submissions help, maybe can help in bum marketing but I do not know to get backlinks, if you got backlinks, they are not much value.

I did a test 8 months ago with around 40 articles, unique content and submit them to ezinearticles. For a couple of days the articles have been top ten in Google, then top 20, and then go out of Google. when I do link:mysite.com (mysite was in my article signature) none of these articles are in the google index as backlink.

So in Yahoo, yes they are as backlink, for my experience, Ezinearticle is the best to get traffic, and to get reputable backlinks.

    It is my experiece,
    Best,
    Jakomo

I have mixed feelings about them. I don't think they're nearly as valuable as they were a few years ago, due to duplicate content penalty and having so many others doing the same thing, submitting articles.

If you are writing truly high-quality content, you should keep it to yourself. Otherwise, if you are going to try and push your articles on other sites, you would do better by trying to guest blog on a major blog or other community site/newspaper/major media outlet. Spamming your "quality content" to 100 article directories makes what would be "quality content" into "dupe content" which is bad. Don't shoot yourself in the foot.
