As I can't sell anything here yet, I was wondering, should I just publish the work I have and try to monetize it the best I can instead of going back and forth with a prospective client? The idea is circulating my tiny mind at the moment as I read on another forum the ways of article marketing. I mean hardcore article marketing using Google Trends/Cbank/Amazon/whatever to bring in sales. I have a lot of content from a personal project which took most of last year to write, which after getting the go ahead suddenly turned sour. So I'm left with over 100 thousand words on a particular subject, sat taking up my valuable HD space. Should I submit them to article directories as a showcase of work and try and monetize them? Or should I hold off and sell it. My thinking is there is over $2k of work there and due to the topic it could be lucrative or flop. The reason I'm thinking of article directories (such as HubPages) is that I don't need to worry about bandwidth, hosting, SEO etc. One major flaw is that it will be asking to be stolen and used elsewhere. I recently transferred by online article samples from articlesbase to another and they all came up as duplicate on up to 10 other sites. Great, just after I had deleted them too. Your thoughts?
The above post might be right, according to your needs. A Good article directory will work to get you more publication. Mine pings search engines, major blogs, and 62 social directories plus RSS feed. So your info will get picked up. As for adsense, I do not think you would get much. How disk space? The equivalent of 2,000 articles? Compress/compact it, or check your Google account storage, or the internet, or get a bigger hard drive for $60
Thanks for the replies. I'm not a fan of Constant Content really, I was wanting to make $x amount per month from the articles rather than sell them bulk at a discounted rate (which I feel is my only option). dyadvisor - Although Adsense was in the plan, with HubPages you can add in aff links such as CB/Amazon etc. BUT, this amount of articles will take a very long time to submit. I was only joking about disk space. I meant I have valuable work which is sitting on my HD not earning any money. Maybe I should rephrase : What would you do? You have approx 500-1000 articles of high quality content which are ready to go. Do you a) hope to sell them to the highest bidder and get that monkey off your back or b) use them for passive earnings/affiliate sales, which might take months to get up to the hopeful sale price?
Do you have your own website?----------You need lots of outside traffic to sell to the highest. What is the general category of articles? If they were in articles of around 500 words, I could make a category for you like: "articles for sale" The just add in a website domain and/or email address. You can post them fast, immediate issue. This way you could have all the Google, Yahoo/Bing value. Who knows a blog might buy them all. I am currently averaging over 6,000 visits daily. Your price on here would probably be low, competing with so many PLR articles Always glad to help a fellow member, contact me if that would work--------
Starting a website from scratch is easy but getting traffic to it is not. Traffic levels will be dependent on the subject matter to a large degree as well as the amount of time you can devote to promoting the site - which will be considerable. Earning from affiliates and ads needs serious amounts of targeted traffic, which in my experience, takes years to build effectively. I'm a big fan of Constant Content, but I can see why you might not like it. If you want repeat earnings from all of your content, you can offer only usage licences on CC for every article. Articles tend to only be downloaded about 3 times maximum in general I've found, so I prefer selling full rights licences, usually for more than 3 times my usage licence price.
Thanks for that. It is all online casino content ie. software/casinos/tips/strategies etc. They range from 200 words up to 1300 for full software reviews. I'm still unsure at the moment, but I'll let you know.
DYA - I'm managing to sell the articles, but I have others which I might contact you about. Won't be until the weekend as I'm too busy at the moment.
@DaisyMuu - I would suggest you to sell articles to high paying sites like constant-content [or magazines] on a regular basis [Not as a bulk sale!!!!]. Whenever you make the sale of an article, try to compose a unique re-write of the same and submit them to article directories. This would work!
W3W - I've given CC another go, I just find it so slow though. A travel magazine did get in touch recently, but their mag isn't being launched until March next year. They want articles by the end of this month and payment will be in April 2011!! Sounds like a scam, I cannot imagine they would remember to pay up. Good idea on the rewrites. I will definitely give that a go.
