Are Americans really that stupid?

Americans are very low HQ from what i've saw

And this show says it all ....

 

Ah what a stupid show...

 

Why do i need to know when summer end? I don't dress warm at the day summer end. I do it when i feel cold.

Why do i need to know when was 9/11, or where Iraq is? Those things changed my life, but i really don't have anything to do with them.

It is on the book, but it doesn't mean i have to remember it.

The show creator is brilliant. There are tons of game shows that i don't know they existed. But this "stupid" show got my attention, and i actually watch it! Contest for dumb people, BRILLIANT

 

I've never seen it, but I assume the contestants are potentially making money for their time and the creator should be as well. The sponsors are getting seen. But the audience if spending their time watching other people and making fun of them for not knowing about the seasons and planets. So I say the audience is worst off.

Most of the stuff it sounds like they are asking is essentially trivia anyway. The brightest planet? I guess it you were trying to navigate that may matter (I don't know) but people today have more important things to know. As for the seasons, practically speaking, I imagine few people care when the seasons technically change. People know when the seasons practically change where they live (assuming they change much).

I guess the show is a diversion for some, but from what I've heard, I wouldn't feel bad for not knowing the things on this show .

I call it misery television.

When things are bad people like shows that feature people worse off than they are. Makes them feel better.

Now, are Americans stupid? I won't answer that. But, Americans bought into NAFTA. Who was paying attention?

Now, according to a Michael Moore documentary the other night on PBS, Nike pays $0.40 an hour to have Nike shoes made in Indonesia. The CEO was filmed saying that "there are no Americans that want jobs making shoes". Moore went to Flint, Michigan and filmed a crowd of 500 people chanting "we want to make shoes!". Moore presented the tape to the CEO who still would not commit to opening a plant in Michigan.

If a worker spent all day on a single pair of shoes, that would be a hell of a pair of hand made shoes at a cost of $4.00 in labour. I doubt that they spend even 20 minutes on a pair. Yet, they retail for what? (I don't know, don't own any)

So where is the boycott on Nike?

Oh, in the same documentary, TWA pays prisoners $2.00 an hour to take airline reservations. Moore quips, "be careful the next time you have an attitude with customer service, you might get a visit some time!"

More to the point when does Summer begin

 

In USA 90% people are stupid and very good at follow the system. Rest 10% people are very very smart and good at creating the system.
I think this is good combination because if you have 100 % smart people you are not going to get done anything.
(My percentages are just a ballpark figure)

 

When were in 5th grade they drill all this stuff in our heads. As the years go on this stuff becomes useless (as if it ever was useful) and we just forget about it. Like other people have said, when will we need any of this stuff?

The words "Stupid and/or dumb" is quite harsh and inaccurate! Lets just ask ourselves, which country did the most popular operating system come from? Where did the Internet originate from? In the Entertainment industry, which country has Global Market?? This very Highly successful forum that made it possible for all of us to share our thoughts and for some make tons of money originate in?? Yes we do make stupid shows, but you guys are watching.. Thanks, You guys watching these shows improves the ratings!!!

 

Americans are printing papers , naming them as USA Dollars.Giving them to us and taking our time and work.They are telling there are mass destruction weapons in Iraq , then say we could not find any evidence.
They make aggrements with the new Iraq goverment the oil companies takes the &70 of Iraq petroluem and the Iraq people takes the remaining %30 (a lot of fighting and killing)
We take the dollars , we watch the tv shows and say "huh Americans are stupid"
I guess we have to look at the mirror to see a stupid man

you cannot judge intelligence or stupidity of any person by only one question. there are several questions that even phd persons cannot answer, that does not mean they are stupid. get the point?

 

the average iq of people in general is 100, its always 100. that never changes.

 

Summer officially ends and Autumn begins on the autumnal equinox (happens in late September) But here in Michigan, we are lucky to get one week of summer sometime in the middle of July!

Venus is normally the brightest planet in the sky, but there are times when Jupiter can be brighter. We can see them with the naked eye, but only as bright points of light. If we look at them with a telescope we can see much more detail. With a telescope you can see Saturn's rings and bands of color on Jupiter.
