Are all the decent domains gone?

I have spent the last few days trying to find some domains to start another hosting company dedicated to reseller hosting and most of/all are taken its really annoying.

Specifically the ".com"'s are taken

 

Yea, you can't find original .com's.

 

You can only get decent domains at aftermarket

 

or,you can try to find great .pro domains... it's gTLD . I love .pro! you can see my sig!)
for development i think it's best option!!

 

There are still plenty of decent domains you just need to be creative. Don't look for single word dictionary words, that isn't going to happen.

Think of something brandable like "yola" and add it to the domain name so you get yolahosting.com which happens to be available. I'm not saying yola is a perfect name but just trying to give you an example.

You are right. That is a bit overloaded domain name extension. In any case you need to understand that and you have the choice. Some good web hosting companies are coming with .NET domain names so I wonder why don't you want to try out this domain name extension and find and have your domain name with them?

 

While the best domains are all gone, as long as you are not in a hurry, you can find some nice domains through drop catchers services.

 

yes, you could notice most of these either parked or no website- just registered. really annoying... but all are awaiting for good price offer.

yes, true, if you wait and monitor regularly then you may get one. I got few after waiting 1-2 years...

 

I actually buy domains every week through drop catching services and some times the morning the domain is going to drop, if there are no offers from other buyers, I cancel my own and few days later I register the domain paying just the registrar fee.
It doesn't work for all domains and every time, but on average it helps.
Monitoring the domains dropping can easily become a full time job though if you don't specialize in a domain niche

 

Easy to remember, long domain names are still available - but even those are rare nowadays

 

i think all of the DECENT domains are gone, only the GREAT ones are left, those ones will never be gone if you know what i mean

 

Did you tried to check the domains related to specific niche which are dropped and never used?

 

That's exactly right, listen to this guy. If you will spend a few minutes brainstorming you can easily come up with something catchy and easy to remember.

 

I have some ideas. If you're talking about a re-sell hosting site then why not get into that as a theme? Think about things that are resold and where like yard sales and garage sales. Or think about places where they do that to people like orphanages. lol You could call your site hostadoption.com Well, you can probably think of something better, but you get the idea. I hope my insight was helpful.

 

Most good names are take but if you look long and hard enough you will probably find something eventually.

Might be easier to post a WTB message in the Domain Sales forum with a budget. You may find something perfect at a very reasonable price and save yourself some time.

An aged domain could also give you an SEO advantage (but check that its history is clean)

You can find other extension
like .ws, .biz etc but not
very good for SEO

If you are creative, you can
combine two or three words
to make it as a domain..

 

There are still gd domain in the net. Make ur domain rhyme can help alot.
