Over 2 years displaying Affiliate ads on my website: http://www.fans-zone.co.uk/ and have made little or next to nothing. I have heard you need a mountain of traffic to make decent money from these Affiliate programs. If i had such traffic i would have no need for these programs i would be selling my own products. Please enlighten me!
No ! As I know, there is nothing wrong with affiliate programs, but with your site ! You have 2 years old site, which got a huge count of visitors and sales, in first months, right ? So when the site is getting "old" - the same design, the same products, the same content - it's no more interesting for a big part of readers and buyers ! So maybe try to fresh up it, and then look at the results I did it, and my sales are grown in the right way ! Thank, You ! SkaySlow @ DP
Affiliate sales are BOOOMING. Suggest you consider the content of the site, your audience and match the advertising to both. Good luck
Affiliate marketing is on the rise! I'm doing very well with affiliate marketing as a newbie despite a low number of page views and clicks. It's all about your niche, how targeted your traffic is and matching you traffic with the right advertisers. Best & Take Care.
As long as people have products to sell, they will need people to sell them. I don't see it going anywhere for a long time. Individual companies, perhaps, but not as a whole.
i have sent hundreds of clicks to affiliates, with zero sales, affiliate marketing has pretty much been a dead end for me... so the volume of traffic is not the issue. as near as i can tell, jgriff, what our sites have in common is that they are entertainment-related... they are not designed to sell products, so they don't attract people who are looking to buy anything. does anyone else out here have similar experiences?
First part of running any business is to do market research........ So many people sit down at the computer and "think" they can earn money online because others are. Problem is there are some making money.... and a ton who are not..... For Fans-Zone....I think you need to look at design & usability a bit more..You are so focused on trying to get people to click your ads you are probably turning them off to your site. Do you track your repeat visitors? Have you asked your visitors what their interests are when they buy things? I can tell you from my own experience affiliate marketing works and for all types of sites.....
my average page ecpm with adsense is still over $10 per thou, and i don't engage in crap tactics, like so many out here do. i'm killing it with adsense, and i have been for years, but it's a complete dead end for affiliates. i think that some people have this idea that affiliate marketing works for all traffic and all sites... that is not the case. lately i've been on the rocketprofit kick, trying out some dating services and other totally non-relevant things on predominantly male traffic... over 60 clicks so far, zero conversions.
Affiliate programs are not dying and are far from it. Infact Affiliate Programs internet income is booming. Maybe it could be something you are doing wrong. Maybe you need to rotate your programs, write new content, reviews, change your affiliate programs/products integration techniques, design, etc. Good luck.
What kind of traffic do you get? The site defiantly could use an upgrade. Work on your ad placement as your site is way to busy and all over the place. I personally would instantly hit the back button even as a targeted visitor as it looks bannerfarmish and unorganized. No offense.
if he's sending 'em traffic, how could he be doing anything wrong? jgriff, it might help to know about how many clicks you have sent these affiliates so far.
