    Hi there,
My webites are fairly well established and I do have some good positions for a lot of my keywords. However, I have 2 fairly new sites which as far as I am concerened are correctly opsimised for Google but they are not performing at all well in natural listings.

I have been using adwords for about 6 months to promote these sites. If I had good natural positions for these sites, I would probably spend a lot less on adwords The sceptic in me is saying that why would these sites do well in natural listings when I am paying so much out for adwords, wouldn't Google be shooting themselves in the foot. Any opinions would be appreciated.

IMO, adwords do not affect your natural listing at all. You better do some link building and SEO stuff to your site.
