Hello guys, I am going to sell my game ArchBattle for some cash. I recently have bigger projects on hand and have no time to maintain the game at all anymore. It currently has 1,470 players at the time of writing this and normally 10-25 players on at a time. It makes a fair amount of revenue per day and gets thousands of unique hits.

Did you code the game yourself?

When you say you do not have time for maintain it, what is there to maintain?

 

what all is involved in maintaining the site?
and what script is it using and why is there all those other archbattle domains like .rr.nu, .net.tf etc?

 

Mainly just posting news, maybe coding in some new features ever so often if you prefer. Just basically making sure the site is running fine. There really isn't too much maintain, Just advertising on some sites for cheap and such. You just have to check on it, make sure everything is running correctly, and talk to users that message you .

To explain the weird SLTD domains, it would be users masking their referral URL (Which gets many members because they post them everywhere), Just so users dont flame them for using referral links probably.

@upnya - The minimum reserve is $300

@freediver - It uses the RogueBATTLE script which is completely customized and almost recoded design wise. Including a anti-dual login script coded in. I just can't run it anymore, due to me releasing a Linux distribution and I need to focus all my attention to it and I am really low on money for the Christmas season.

Mine is gmail , I have check and its on my inbox, but my question is where is the url to the game? I goto login and it shows up I have to validate. I validate and it shows up. "You account has already been activated." Then thats it. Nothing pops up or re-direct me to anything after that.

Yes, I only used Adsense for 3 days and managed to earn $12, So $4 a day is not bad. I switched to Bidvertiser and it has made almost $5.50 so far. Another revenue maker is people purchasing @archbattle.com emails for $5. I have received almost $35+ from that.

Which is the same thing please validate blah blah.. (I am using a MAC) could it be just for (windows) based? or is anyone else having the same problem?

 

I have a Mac running Mac OS X 10.3 Panther without any problems in Firefox. I just logged in to your account as well without any problems. However I have just deleted and setup a demo account for everyone -

Im interested in this but have a couple questions/concerns.

Since this is browser based most shared/VPS providers won't have a problem with it i'm guessing. I know most providers don't allow M.U.D.S and whatnot do you think this will be fine or will I absolutely need a dedicated to start?

Would resetting stats every month or another time period and possibly competing for prizes take away from the game or it would be just as good? Or is the game better just left alone so people can build up gold and population and whatnot?

I know you said PP only but is there anychance you can accept epassporte? I can probably get some paypal but would have to exchange with somebody to do so.

One more thing seeing as you developed it will you be available for hire for later updates if desired? If not would a sufficent freelance be that hard/expensive to find?

Well, Resetting the stats monthly and giving away real prizes, May be a good idea, But would have to be coded in by someone else, I am mainly selling this because I have other projects I would like to focus my attention to. However I do know someone that is a pretty cheap developer and is familiar with ArchBattle. Currently, Players prefer it the way the game is, but would like to see from them mailing me is a Spy system, Guild/Clan System, and more "Social Tools".

About using ePassporte, I am not very familiar with it, However I will look into it. Otherwise I would prefer Paypal, Unless you are going to buy it for the BIN which we could discuss payment methods.

Also about the Hosting. I currently am hosting it on my Resellerzoom account (http://www.resellerzoom.com) Which is a WHM reseller and works great and they have very affordable prices, So a VPS I do not think would be needed.

- why you are not using adsense on this site. any problem using adsense ?
- how difficult is to modify the script. I have some php experience. is it php based?
- The stats that you are showing, number visits, referral sites etc..which site/program is that that collect stats. is it paid program? I prefer free site/script to collect stats and would like to continue to do so after purchasing a site.

I decided to use Bidvertiser instead, because I wanted to try them and they have a low payout of only $10 via Paypal

It is not very difficult to modify the script, because it uses includes for the header/footer etc.

The program used to collect stats is Awstats which is default in all cPanel installations.
