ArcadeWebmasters.com (AWM) is an arcade resource website that provides webmasters with tips on how to run their arcades and well as a forum where they can share ideas about promotion, development, content, revenue and more. The forum is full of content and tips for webmasters and the blog has over 25 unique articles posted. Some of which rank very high on Google for the keywords they contain. As you can tell the site is also using various hacks to achieve SEF URLs in Joomla and SMF.

Currently very little revenue is generated from this site because we have not had time monetize it and the little that we do monetize is revenue share that is shared among the members. This site would be a perfect fit for selling an arcade script or game packs. In fact you will receive a 2400 game game pack that has been sorted and branded with the AWM name. Currently we sell them in our forum shop but we had always intended to sell them as well. We have also been approached on a few occasions by script owners wanting to advertise on the forum but have stayed away from that to not show a bias one way or the other. However, the new owner could sell ads as they wish. As you can see the potential for huge revenue is possible, but like I said, we no longer have sufficient time to put into this site. AWM has very loyal members and is a great community it runs off of Joomla and SMF with way too many mods to count. We would actually prefer that someone from within the AWM community take it over and so those bids will consider first.

BONUSES:

We will also include a fully custom templates site with full rights to 10 phpArcadScript templates. The URL is http://www.arcadetemplates.com. You will get the full source to all 10 of those templates for phpArcadeScript and the domain. Also, the site currently ranks #1 on Google and Yahoo. You could sell these templates along with the AWM game packs for additional revenue. We will also include the domain name BannerSlave.com which we intended to use at one point as an AWM sponsored banner exchange program.


Why are we selling? Well, I recently sold off a pretty big arcade website and I'm thinking of getting out of that business. Also, we simply haven't had the time to devote to the site like it needs. We paid a little over $1000 for AWM almost a year ago and have made considerable changes to it since then that have helped it to grow as a community.

Potentially interested in this site. I've never worked with joomla or smf before, is it as simple and stable as something like wordpress?

Are there any know technical issues/problems with the site at the moment?

What is needed to run the site, just php and mysql?

Joomla is probably one of the most popular CMSs ever and is used by thousands of people. It is very easy to run and operate, however, I have made considerable custom mods to SMF that would require some PHP knowledge if they would ever need edited again. I will be available online via instant messenger to assist the new owner for a few weeks during the transition to answer any questions.

 

Can current members like vote on new owners before sell is done?

I will not be selling the site below the reserve price under any circumstances. I keep setting an end date and not getting any action so we will do it this way instead.
