ArcadeDevil.com - Established Website Making $45 per day!

Discussion in 'Sites' started by dlm, May 20, 2006.

    URL: http://www.arcadedevil.com

    Age of site (months): 7

    Monthly revenue: $1400

    Revenue details:
All revenue is generated via YPN. Screenshot is below (different targeting on different days accounts for much of the variation):
    http://arcadedevil.com/stats/rev.jpg

    Monthly page views: 300,000

    Traffic details:
Site gets about 600 visitors and 10,000 page views per day:
    http://arcadedevil.com/stats/traffic.jpg

Traffic comes from type-ins and search engines. In fact, many people are searching for "Arcade Devil" on Google and Yahoo. This can be seen in the referrer screenshot below and by the OVT score of 129 with extension for last month:
    http://arcadedevil.com/stats/refs.jpg

    Description:
Reason I am selling: I am looking to buy a car and as such need money for a down payment. Otherwise I would keep this website and continue to make solid revenue month after month.

The website is run using a custom PHP script and database containing all of the games that is unique and is very easy to use. You can add/edit/delete games from the admin panel in seconds. I spend no more than 5 minutes per day on this site - it is very easy and simple to manage.

This website is a great deal - I fully believe the buyer will be very happy with what they recieve and how quickly they will be able to recover their investment. If I did not need to purchase an automobile I would not be selling at this time.

There are lots of arcade sites out there, but almost none are fully unique, do not advertise at all and have thousands of returning visitors. At around 1 year's current revenue, this site is priced to sell quickly.

    Price (or starting bid): $12,000

    BIN: $22,000

    Is an auction?: No

    Google PR: 5

    Alexa site rank: 344,140

Where do most of your new visitors come from?

    EDIT

Sorry - reread the description and found the answer.

What are the running costs? Ads / bandwidth etc..

    cheers

Running costs are about $10 per month for hosting as the site uses about 10GB per month of bandwidth.

I do not currently and have never spent any money on advertising.

Actually mm, something is not adding up.

I own a gaming site myself (with more traffic I might add) and even though I dont trick people into clicks like this site does, even if every one of those 600 uniques per day clicked an ad you would still not make anywhere near $45 a day. The click values in Adsense for this type of content just isn't there. It averages like $5 (often less) for every 100 clicks. But then the ad revenue he showed was for YPN and not Adsense.

Seems a bit odd he would switch to adsense the past couple of says then try to sell the site when he was doing so well with YPN?

He's also stealing other site's bandwidth and by the looks of things, they're not happy about it.

Also BS. inventory.overture.com shows only 243 people searched for that term. And his own referrer stats show only 3.5k visitors came from google. Hardly enough to cover the 600 uniques per day he's claiming so they are coming from somewhere else.

Yeah, it looks like all his games are just frames of other sites' games. Plus a ton of them don't work. Buyer beware.

I own a gaming site myself generating around 5-10$ a day.
I get around 3000 unique visitors every day. My Adsense impressions are 3-4 times higher than what ArcadeDevil has. I doubt the money that he is earning from YPN is from the ArcadeDevil.com site. Gaming sites don't have such high CPM rates, I dont care who advertises you.

Google's TOS also states that you are not allowed to mislead your visitors and ArcadeDevil is certainly doing that with the pictures he has showing next to the ads. If I were you, I would remove those pictures!

I don't believe a word this guy is saying!

I agree with you, mostly. There is plenty of evidence that G does not ban sites for using pictures next to ads. I use a technique that is even sneakier that that and G has said there is no problem with it. The biggest problem G has with ads is the actual code. They're real sticklers for keeping the adsense code intact.

This guy is cheating.. and how come he could post in the sites sales forums. He does not even have 50 minimum posts. I thought that was the rule.

What I am supposed to explain?

You need 25 posts to make a thread in this section, I have over 25, nothing fishy there.

Nothing I am doing is against Google's TOS - I have read it very carefully several times.

How does the site get traffic? Look at the referral screenshot at the top of the page. People are typing in ArcadeDevil.com alot (as can be seen through the OVT search tool or the referrer log) because the site has been online for many months.

I am linking to games on other sites, there is nothing illegal with that. If another site's owner emails me (which has not yet happened) and asks me to remove the link, I will most certainly do it.

As for switching from YPN to Adsense, many of my potential buyers dont have YPN and wanted to see what the site would make with Adsense. I will update my earnings with Adsense in a couple days.

Traffic and revenue stats are legit, if you are interested in seeing more proof simply PM me and I will show it to you.

I have been buying and selling developed sites without incident for years, although I am new to this forum.

I would appreciate it if you kept this thread free for actual questions and PM'ed me with your personal attacks and what not.

No one wants to pm you post the stats. And did you even read what the guy said he gave evidence why the stats could not be true, until you prove how ovt matches up with traffic then no need for your last post. And how did you end up with more money than all these other guys with arcade sites.

aren't you doing the same thing with the images next to ads with www.Blitzgamer.com?

and putting adsense ads on adult pages (even adult video games) as you do on all of the sites in your signature is against their TOS.

note: i've gotten some $2+ clicks on my gaming sites using YPN and i'm letting YPN do the targetting - I am not choosing high paying categories on purpose as some people do.

I am not going to waste my time defending this sale in this thread anymore. Its pretty obvious most of you dont have any respect for other people's sales threads. I have several interested buyers whom I have showed stats to and they all seem satisfied. I am doing nothing fishy/illegal/improper with either my traffic or revenue statistics and the people who have PM'ed me here and on other forums realize that.
