Just curious as school is about to start up...and I am planning on buying(if I have to) alot of traffic....but anyways, are there any free methods that really deliver quality visitors...or any really cheap deals on traffic?
As for purchasing traffic, I've heard funpageexchange is great. Just the banner exchanges and stumbleupon is all I can really think of for quick, free traffic. Small amounts might come from freebie sites and arcade top sites. Also, link exchange with those arcades that get thousands and thousands of hits to their sites per day....maybe you'll catch a bit of all that traffic.
The best traffic is the real traffic (links, advertising on forums etc.). Buying traffic is almost unworthy. I explained kinda 10 times on this forum how do they do it. They just use free traffic exchange programs and buy credits from your moeny (ofcourse they charge more from you!). They are real visitors but they stay only max 10 seconds. I also have such thing called "Perpetual Traffic Generator", but never tested it. They could use this thing too though, if it works.
Arcade topsites and links on popular arcade sites, word of mouth is very powerful though. When I go back to school I'm going to pass my site around.
I found banner exchanges can work quite well. Most offer bulk traffic that doesn't get much more targeted (arcade sites only) Check out ArcadeAffiliate.com if you're looking for something a little different. We're in testing right now with some really great new ideas.
Yeah the banner exchanges have done very well for me so far. I'm betting they'll pick up even more once school starts.
One question on banner exchanges... and maybe Im just looking at this the wrong way, but like if you exchange banners or links with another arcade, I dont see how this really helps. I would think their visitors already go to the other arcade site when they want to play games and are somewhat loyal to it and wouldnt bother checking out a different site that offers similar content. (Sorry to threadjack)
Traffic is traffic. Getting people to your site is probably the hardest part. Keeping them there is up to you and will depend on the quality of your site. I'm loyal to sites because of the services they offer. Not because I find their domain pleasing or have been using them for a while so why change now. I'm always looking for new things. Give it a try and you'll be glad you did.
