It is a common belief that young people do not tend to click on ads and I think it is safe to assume most people who spend time at arcade sites are boored teens. I know a few people here do have arcade sites so I was wondering what their revenue is like? How is the click through rate? And apart from adsense could you recommend other ways of monetising an arcade website? Thank you.
I dont think any one would reveal exact revenue, but what i can tell you is that if your site is really good which gives away somthing to the visitors makes a good revenue,.. a site with no content and no information for visitors might make few$ more than a site with good content and somthing for visitors, but it is temparary it is always better to think interms of making the site user friendly and giving away information or anything to the users to get something back in return..
The real trouble with arcade sites is that there are a zillion clones out there with no real quality differentiators.
I agree. That and the fact that they require a ton of bandwidth and diskspace. Which is why I wanted some people who do have arcade sites to tell me how it is for them as I was considering setting up one...
Ton of bandwidth use, ton of disk space required, very low paying keywords, high server loads... bleh. Go ahead, make one.
I had one for about a month before I sold it off. Used real quick like 30gigs of bandwidth! Income was like for that month less than 2 bucks. Right, mostly young-uns as the games are mindless for older folks. Still have the script for some reason. Maybe I should sell off the script?
I have a couple but they are a lot of work if you are planning on making money, there is a lot of them out there now, and a lot of different scripts. The only reason I have them is the same reason I started a directory, thought that it would be a cool site to learn on
