Hi all, I have created an arcade site in ASP.NET/ C#. There seems to be hundreds of scripts out there for PHP but absolutely none for ASP.NET (Please correct me if I'm wrong). I have just finished the main part of it and looked at it under IE7 and FireFox so if someone could take a peek under other browses I would be interested to see how it renders.. The rating system has a bug I think as the ratings are not showing up (Fix that tomorrow) but the paging, viewing etc are all working. I have written a bulk import routine which imports games into the database via a CSV file as well. In the future I will look at adding membership etc. Just to gauge a response would anyone be interested in using this ASP.NET script once I have it finished (Freebie). The site is Gamer Eden.com www.gamereden.com Thanks! Mark PS: I have created modules which show the top 10 rated games, latest 10 games added and the 10 most played games as well. They are not on the homepage yet but they all work fine and I will add them asap.
What I would fix is the "jaggyness" of the font, its not smooth. Also, for your text links below the header, it would be easier to read if there was a background/bar behind them.
I think its great that you have done this in .asp and c#, though I don't know where the c# comes in, are you running c#on the server or something as server side script. I clicked on one game and your site responded very fast even though my speed has been throttled to 64Kbs due to exceeding my download limit(actually not me but some chinese visitors downloading chinese movies) You logo is a little hard to read, maybe remove one or two skulls and it will be cool.
Hi, thanks for the positive feedback everyone. Re Yep, I used C# to do the server side stuff as I have not done PHP for many years and there seemed to be no Microsoft arcade script available. If anyone is interested, you can download the compiled script for free from http://www.gamereden.com/download.aspx Cheers Markus
I dunno if you're just using the site as a demo, or if it's to be a public site, but if so, the picture of Mario could be a copyright issue.
