    Hi all.
Is anyone know how to marketing arcade site? i have find a lot of information about it from many sites, but seems all of them are useless. All arcade webmasters writing some useful tips, but they are not going with a same way.

there are list what they are offering to get more traffik
    1. Link exchange.
    2. banner exchange.
    3. Stumbleupon.
    5. Good designed site.
    4. More games about 500+ (I already have 2000+)

But i am going with this way, no result.

    Anyone knows how to marketing?

    This is my site

    you forgot topsites.
except for Stumbleupon, thats just the basics.you will get some traffic, but not a whole lot.

    i'm learning myself,but here's a few tips.

submit game pages to sites that have that.
unique features.they may come back tommrow or tell their friends.
look at big arcades and you might pick up a couple tips.
advertising is key.use adbrite and adengage to advertise on sites that target the same age group.for example, advertise on myspace sites.they go to your arcade, take a game code and don't remove your link ;) ,you will get some myspace traffic.

i can tell you one way to loose visters.have 7 flashing banners in the header.:p:D
put them in the footer.if the banner exchange requires above the fold, remove the code from your site.
put a logo up there, even if its a crappy one.:D

FYI - there's an Arcade website for sale on SitePoint (can I say that here?) that supposedly makes $7K per month!! They claim to get 1.8 Million uniques and 18 Million pv's per month! If this is true, he must know what he's doing...

Speaking of Topsites, please sign up at thearcadewars.com, which might help a little with your traffic.

Social bookmarking might work nicely for your arcade site.. Try promoting the best games that your site offers.

Here is something to think about..

    1) Lets say you changed your layout around to try and make it unique...

You just bought a script with games and database that tons of other people have.. so, you have a arcade site that is just like everyone elses.. The same descriptions, the same games, the same titles.. everyone is the same as everyone elses arcades.. Especially if you buy the Same gamepacks that everyone else buys...

That isn't a good thing for search engines. So you can try and make your site look different, but underneath its just like everyone elses who owns your script...

    2) With that, why market something that everyone else is marketing.. you need to make it special or different from everyone elses.. (how? I don't know)

    3) Banner exchanges work at the beginning because they give you bonuses to sign up. (think about that, and what you Could do)

    4) Big link exchanges are big. Strike the iron when its hot and make friends with arcades that are bigger than you. Get them to be your friends, and it will only help you. The hard part is making them actually help you.. But you need to strike deals when you have something to offer..

Hope some of the above helps. Good luck! ;)

Well, I have a couple of arcade sites and one is working pretty good and the other one, well, there are no interesting results.

The differences between both of them :
    - the good one is 3 y.o and the other one has only 6 month
    - the good one has my own descriptions for each game, the other one is a huge DB that I bought.

So, as wrote it nkiegrea ... make your arcade unique with a specific design and your own content and wait... do not remember to update it weekly and quickly you will earn more and more euros !!!

Get a sitemap generated, and submit it to Google. Get all your pages indexed.

I think a good way to market would be to actually create a unique site... there has to be 1000's of site's using this arcade script, and they all look almost exactly the same!

Yeah to get more traffic you need something unique for your site that can make visitor come to your site not other. Try to add more features and sections for member to participate not just play.

you probably need a bit more works on SEOs.

You forget one simple thing>> be UNIQUE. in the sense that you write your own content for the 2000 games.

I got a 100 games site but with around 2k unique visitor daily. Why? Simply coz of unique content.

I was thinking about this toby, and was just going to post a request in the sellers section.

You have said that unique content DESCRIPTIONS is hepling your 100 game site get 2k a day.

Well, say i want to play "the helicopter game" -- which is one of my most searched phrases for one of my arcades (which all use the same games/descs)

how would a unique game description help there?

    If 100 other sites had:

    "Helicopter game"

Flay your helicopter through the maze

    and your unique site had:

"Helicopter game" (cannot be unique as this is the name of the game)

Here is a great game where you try to fly your helicopter in a green maze.

How would it actually help search results?

The description is not what is searched on arcade sites, it usally either the name of a specific game, or the usual "free games", "flash games", etc

I might open this up to a new post. but would still like to see what you have to say. Some ideas on your keyword results etc.

    Cheers

My arcade sites traffic has doubled each month for 4 months(since I started it).

This month I'm thinking it'll triple the stats.

Something I've learned about an arcade is to make sure you have a fast and clean script. I've gotten about 50 reviews where people were impressed because it didn't run slow.

Check your files and make sure that the arcade isn't calling the sql database several times and what not.

True, but that shouldn't bother you to have an arcade. 100,000 arcades, but only 80,000 of them are in google. 80,000 of them were not smart with their site. 50,000 forgot to add a sitemap, good metatag, anchor, etc.
Now with the 30,000 left 25,000 didn't know how to find directorys. Never heard of them, and they only submitted to google and not the others.
With 5,000 left you got some competition. But if your able to grasp a high google pagerank, then the competition will have troubles beating you.

You don't have to worry about competitors. Just do everything and anything you can to help the site and everything will turn out for the better.

in fact, after doing a search in my awstat, I found that people do search for specific game such as: helicopter game, shooting games, car racing game etc.

What i did was to go around those keywords i.e. the keywords people usually search. So if i have 100 games, I would target 100 different keywords. So if i have 2000 games, i would at least target 1500 keywords.

Also the inbound link will help as well.

You said other sites also have unique content and I agree with it, but can you guess how many of them? I suppose not many and most of them have a very very short descriptioin. So you could add more MORE content i.e. 200 words description for example.

Wow,, i'm disclosing the top secret now :d
