Many Arcade owners only use one type of revenue source. Which I don't see why they do this. Most Arcades I see only use adsense to bring in revenue when you can get other types of revenue from other places. So, for those that just use AdSense: If you get 2000 CPM a day with 2+ clicks with a payout of 0.10-0.70 click per 1000 impressions. You could make 0.20 - 1.40 cents a day. What is that in a gave year? $0.20 * 30 = $6 monthly $6 * 12 = $72 yearly $1.40 * 30 = $42 monthly (reach payout only every 3 months, ouch!) $42 * 12 = $504 yearly Not even geting over $1000 a year? What gives. Here is a good thing: AdSense allows other advertisments to be place on the same webpage as long as those advertiments are not content targetted advertisments and adult in nature. What does that mean? That means you can place other forms of advertisments on your website along with adsense. I have came up with a small list of other types of revenue you can earn with your Arcades other then just having adsense on your arcade. #1: Clickbank & Clickbooth: This is a pay per action advertiser. Many of the payouts are when users input thier email, zip code, and phone numbers. The payout per action is usually $1~$1.50. If you were to get 1 person to enter thier email a day then you can an extra $30 at the end of the month. 1 person a day over a year is $365 extra on top of just AdSense. #2: Moregamers.com: More gamers is a banner exchange that also has a paying side of the place. Usually CPM is 0.40~0.60, which is on par with AdSense. The impressions counted are the same amount of impression got with AdSense and a site with 2k pageviews a day and 2 clicks would end up making an extra $0.80~$1.20 a day. Over the year if you were do get at least $1 a day from moregamers then you could have an extra $365 a year. #3: AdEngade or BidVertiser or AdEngade: These are not contextual advertisments thus adsense will allow these to be ran along with the advertisments. These are places that people pay you to run advertiments on your website. You can earn at base $3 per month for each link sold at these places. On average a decent sized website with a decent amount of pageviews (5000+) a day can sell up to 12+ text links at a total of $10+ a month for each. 12*10 = $120 a month extra. 120*12 = $1440 extra a year. (be carefull to filter out all the adult sites) #4: Paid for download games: There are places that will pay you each time a user pays to download and run a game from your site. They usually only payout after a person has bought a game from them. With a payout rate of $10~$20 per game bought depending on which games they have bought. Just one game purchase a month from your users can bring in an extra $120-$240 a year in revenue for your arcade. #5: Game Sponcerships: Advertiser of of other Arcades and places by text and image advertiments on a single game. Some will pay $1-$5 per game spot depending on the popularity of the game. With a stock of 2800+ games and selling 30 spots per a month at the $1 rate. 30*1*12 = $360 extra a year. #6: Text-Link-Ads.com : This site specializes in selling text links on your website and has a huge amount of people that wants to buy the spots. Usually they rely on alexa to tell them about your traffic volume on your website. At minimum you will $12 a month for a site-wide text link. You can have up to 20 links shown on your site at a time, but you should limit it to only 5-8 links. This could possibly bring you an extra: $60 a month and a yearly total of $720. #7: AdSene: PSA - AdSense when it can't find a related keywords or any advertisers for the keywords on your page will show a PSA. You don't get paid for a PSA nor does it count as a impression and towards the CPM of your site. So, why allow AdSense to show this PSA. They have a feature where you can tell AdSense what advertisment to show instead of a PSA (Hint you have to tell it the link to a file to show or it will automaticly show a PSA). You can track how many PSA your site is showing in a day. My sites that was showing 3000~4000 CPM a day was showing 5000~7000 PSA. Which meant I was loosing money each time they showed one of them. Places like http://www.alternateurl.com/index.php has setup a automatic way to capture the lost revenue from PSA. You could earn more money monthly and yearly by doing just this. I made an extra $5 a month from just replacing my AdSense PSA with some other forum of advertising. #8: AuctionAds.com: A member of ebay came out with a way to easily intergrate ebay's auctions with any type of website. The advertiments are keyword based by do not read your website and is not contextual based. You have to provide the keywords that will show advertisments. The Ads are payout by Per Action. Which means the people clicking on the advertiments will have to "Bid and Win", "Sign Up to ebay" in order to be paid out. Payouts can range from $2~$15 per action. Over a period of time revenue from your users could add up. Great keywords, "ps3,video games" etc could be used. Since most of your users might be kids You might skip this form of revenue, but I meantioned it because it is another stream of revenue at your finger tips. #9: Fastclickmedia pop-ups, pop-unders, and slidein' media. Personally I don't use them, but you can use the along side adsense and I hear you can get a 0.20~0.50 CPM on these types of advertiments. Some consider this form of advertisment a bit spammy and way in the users face, but others find the extra $10~$20 a month will off set any thoughts of being spammy towards thier users. These Advertisers are just some of the ways you could make more money from your Arcade through-out the year. Why just rely on adsense. Combined you could be making $XXXX more a year in revenue. I want to hear back from you if you have tried any of these combined with AdSense. I want to hear if you have earned more money with this TIP. Please, let me know. Original here I already made my arcade site before read this post. Now I am thinking what to do with my arcade site.
I must say it is an amazing post.... I was about to make my arcade site www.gameprophecy.com and this post was just in time. Thanks
i see you must've worked really hard to compile that info and share it with co-forumers... thanx your effort is appreciated
Good post mate, I like it. I mainly use adsese on my site, and easily get over $XXX a month. All these ideas are very good -- i especilly like the moregamers advice. I have a more gamers banner on my homepage. I didnt realise they pay you for clicks, i have earned $5 with it just being displayed on the home page -- if that was site wide, it would be sweet. One other thing -- alot of websites are using popunders. I dont know how much these earn, but they are getting popular again -- even imdb has added. Anyway, good post mate.
Thanks alot for the information I'll try more gamers, with adsense and adengage we're getting really low ecpm and it would be nice to integrate them with more reveniew sources !! Div
