Aptera Electric Cars

    I'm sure to many of you who are more "plugged in" to the latest in technology news will be well aware of this already - but I just came across Aptera electric cars.

    Pretty wild stuff! I've never seen anything like it before. You can actually reserve one on their website for a $500 charge - they will be about $27,000-30,000 according to the website. And they are going into production late this year.

    I may have to get one if I strike it rich enough to blow a bunch of money on something I don't need by early '09. Here's hopin' :)

    According to the website the hybrid version gets 1000 MPG for a 50 mile trip but the mileage goes down on longer trips - If a trip is 120 miles then it's only 300 MPG.

    Hmmm.....mpg??..looks like a three wheeler bike with an electric motor and a gas engine to charge its batteries. Neat vehicle though.
