Approaching webhost for sponsors

I am planning to come up with a online market related project for which i need to approach certain hosts..now i wanted to know which would be the best way to approach them..
Should i tell them exactly what the site is going to be?What are the exact details should i mention

You need to tell them what your site is, what they have to do and what they'll get in return

 

I agree with Brennan , you need to tell them what they will get in return. As you know a link back from your website, wont do much good as it will be on the same IP (or same c-class IP).

Also, you need to tell the amount of space you need.
