Thinking of selling off my domain portfolio.. would like to start with these. ... i dabbled in the 'Hotel Industry.com's ' for some time but never truly developed any sites or mini sites, but the domains, themselves, are failry strong. Please Appraise: *Numbers to the right were quoted from 'Evaluate .com" (Hotels) • Hotels Extended Stay .com - $10,000 • Hotel Extended Stay .com - $700 • Hotels South .com - $6,600 • Hotel Lakes .com - $640 • Hotels Lake .com - $0 (Motels) • Motels Extended Stay .com - $35 • Motel Extended Stay .com - $160 • Motel Lake.com - $560 • Motels East .com - $570 • North Motel .com - $580 • South Motel .com - $100 ** A FEW NOTES: (1) - 'Hotels Extended Stay' ... if you've looked, it's obviously, not developed - have owned it for a little over a year.. google seems to have blackballed me for blackhat tactics and duplication (fair enough), but i'm still sittin number 8 on Bing and number 19 on Yahoo for the bigger search term 'Extended Stay Hotels' .. with a little tiny TINY bit of love, this domain name could EASILY be worth a WHOLE lot of money to somebody! (2) - WHAT A DIFFERENCE an 'S' makes!! Well, Thanks for your time.. i look forward to hearing from all of you.
I would say you have a fair chance of getting mid to high-$xxx if you sell all of the 11 domains as a package. However, by far the best bet would be putting up some quick sites that promote hotel deals (some of the large hotel booking sites do affiliate deals) and you'll easily get how to mid-$xxx for each site - more if you build traffic and get some revenue. By the way - if you're wondering why you won't get thousands for your "hot" names then it's for the simple reason that none of the names* are truly brandable. Yeah, the search volume may be high, but so is the competition. * exceptions are NorthMotel and SouthMotel with which you may be able to hit a jackpot if you manage to find someone developing (or already running) a motel with that name.
i really wanted to set up a few of these nicely with a sprinkle of affiliates, but as often is the case - other things pushed me away (like actual paying gigs) ... i'm not going to be able to put this together the right way at this time... so i have listed at Sedo with a high asking price in hopes for some form of negotiation.... hey, i've seen some crappy names go for big numbers, and the only reason they sold was just the fact that they were out there. .. and as far as the competition goes, that was why i thought the HotelsExtendedStay would have had some mega value ... number 8 on Bing?... it's not number 8 n google, but with the whole cellphone wars going on, iPhone has announced that Bing will be there default search engine on all future iPhones.... big news, especially with a name like that sittin that high. Just a thought ...THANK YOU for responding, and all your thoughts are appreciated. ** By the Way... this exact name (Hotels Extended Stay) is how i got my username ... 'Hotels Ex' ... 'Hotel Sex' ... i love the username, but i don't think most people perceive it the right way... understandable
Absolutely! It's ALWAYS a good idea to have your domains listed over there at all times. Exactly as you said, you never know when someone comes along who finds one of your domains extremely valuable and is willing to pay top dollar for it.
