Appraisal of .com please

    Hello there,

I'm not a domain seller, nor do I know much about it, other then the bit I've read the last 15 minutes. I have a .com that I've owned for quite some time that has been sitting inactive (unfortunately) for years.

    The domain is ap0calypse.com

Not sure if this would be worth anything at all? It used to be a smaller computer/tech review website/forum that I ran and at the time was getting good traffic since we had links to our reviews from many computer hardware companies. Obviously I should have done something with it back then, but that is in the past now. I know the zero will devalue it, but it is still a .com and kind of interesting...although I know interesting doesn't necessarily equal value.

    Thanks!

What domains (like this one in particular) sell for is a bit unpredictable. The ones you are going to see selling for more (w/ #'s instead of the letters) are going to be the more premium keywords. This keyword doesn't have much value and the other tlds are still available to register...I would hope for the money you've put into it, but wouldn't expect much over that. With that said, I personally like it, but from a resale POV, not much. Like I said though, unpredictable...

Thanks for the reply. Any opinion on what you would list it for if you were trying to sell it, and where would you list it (maybe just here)? I'm not looking to get rich here, but I figured if it is worth something I might as well sell it as opposed to letting it go for free, or continuing to pay for something I have no plans to use anymore.

The only other domain I own is my name .com. Not really worth anything, except to the other people that have the exact same name as me (there are some, but its not exactly John Smith). I'll probably keep paying for that one...figured it might come in handy some day, whether it be for a blog, resume, or something else.

The domain probably won't get much attention on markets like sedo, gd auctions, etc. You could list it here, but you'll need "3 likes" or a premium account before you can. I'd check out flippa or bido. I don't use the 1st one all that much, but it would work and I've never used bido (too weird)...but those would be the 2...or ebay lol (but I wouldn't list it as an "auction"). If your serious, I'd list it on flippa (accounts are free), $9 to list a domain and $5 to relist if it doesn't sell. I wouldn't use any of the upgrades, at least the 1st time around. Set it for a $1, 25 day auction, mid-week (summers it slows down a bit), setting a reserve price is "free" (included in the listing price). 15% success fee if it sells...feel free to PM if you have any specific questions...if you decide to list it there.
