Thinking of selling a domain name I have owned for over 10 years. It seems that with the iphone, itunes, ipod explosion this domain name should have a large potential.

    Thanks.

Not only because of iPod, iPhone or something... but ipurchase has value of it's own... it can we read as I purchase... or internet purchase too..

Has a big potential.. great to see you own it. Am not great at appraising.. don't take my appraisal for granted.. but I hope it has value in the higher $xxxx

I'd go even higher into the low 5-figures. This one would definitely pay off well.

Thanks for all the responses. I went ahead with some advice I received and had a professional service WeValuer appraise the domain name. The news was good as they came back with an appraisal of 54,650- $62,420. I posted a link to the full appraisal at ipurchase.com if anyone is interested in seeing the full appraisal.

    Thanks again for everyone's advice.

Nice domain.. Did you know TRAFFIC was having an auction on the 20th of this month in Australia?

I am not sure how well domains go at ebay, but I would have thought a premium name like that would go a lot better at a domain conference/auction..

I may be wrong, but just thought I would give you a heads up..

    Good luck

    Cheers

All that is relative. Domain is great thats sure but.. value will depend on you.
Someone could say: hey.. I paid 10$ and now I have offer of 1000..so I will sell it cos I need 1k and is great money 4me. In that case domain would be worth 1k. I would personally wait or I would ask 100-150k, and is not impossible that someone who wants/needs your domain will be willing to pay 150. In second case domain would be worth 150k.

Get it into Sedo and that would be best place but remember to target at least 5 figures.

Nice domain. If I were selling it I would ask in the mid $xx,xxx. If you decided you need to sell it quickly, rather than waiting for a buyer to come to you, then you should consider a live auction at a quality event. I've sold several at the TRAFFIC events and always get much better returns in these events than anywhere else.

Did you use a particular service when selling at the TRAFFIC events? I had looked into one service offering to sell there, but they wanted exclusive selling rights for the next 90 days if using their service.

I would say mid XXXX, but potentially a lot more if the right end user came along.

I used Moniker because they were the only game in town at the time. There's more competition in the live auction space now. Rick Latona and AfterMarket.com are both running auctions at the upcoming TRAFFIC Down Under event. The added competition has put some pressure on Moniker, and they backed off their 'exclusive selling rights' language a bit. It had been as high as 120 days, but now it's down to 60 days.

The toughest part about live auctions at premium events is getting a domain into an auction. The auctioneers receive thousands of submissions for consideration, so only the best domains with reasonable reserves get chosen. If your domains get chosen though you can usually see a nice return.

That is the problem I see with the system. If I use aftermarket.com for example I seems I have to agree to 90 days exclusive without any promise it would even be in that auction.

If you can find the right buyer this name can certainly go for a few hundred thousand :)

    $xxxx reseller

and $xx,xxx + for the right end user (keep in mind that this will require ... most likely a $xxxx+ investment plus much negotiation to find the end user and go through the closing process)

    Great name.
