applying delay in animate in jquery

hi all,
i have an image slider which animates the image to move from left to right side or right to left side.i want to implement a few seconds delay while animating...since i want to make the image to stop moving for a few seconds and after it has to continue moving...what shall i do to implement it?

you can use settimeout() for this...
