Applying analytics code to my wordpress site

    Can i just put the google analytics code in the footer of my wordpress website? Should i put it somewhere else besides that? I don't have any goals really i just want to track my traffic. Any input is greatly apprciated thanks!

    you can put in header after body tag or in footer before body tag...but header one is betetr b'coz after your site loads and the post that your user reads is loaded he/she generally uses stop button of browser to stop further loading and footer does not load..that visit won't be counted...then...

    interesting point sat i currently did put it in the footer but maybe now i will switch it to the header. thanks guys rep added!

    The Semilogic Google Analytics Plugin for Wordpress is the best way, in my opinion, to put GA on your Wordpress powered site.

    Besides eliminating the need to manually edit your template, it also places the code to track outgoing links into your URLs.

    Yes, I use the plugin also and it makes things a lot of easier especially if you're not too familiar with coding.
