Nothing. I am just trying to give them a chance to fix it. You know how big corporations work, they might decide to close the whole thing in order to save themselves the embarrassment instead of just fixing the problem. Would you like to write a pretty composition about about the lack of guidelines in adult, listing of child porn site, rape sites, bestiality sites, pro-anorexia, how to suicide and many other interesting subjects in DMOZ and how is that compatible with social responsibilities of a corporation in today's USA for this email?
I wouldn't be that sure. I mean think about it, Rape, bestiality, child porn, under age children in adult, corruption, money, secrecy, big corporation and retribution against those who are against it. These are all elements of good mystery/factual novel. I don't know how it is in UK but books about Mafia and other organization like it are very popular in US.
I am sure with all your research you'd be able to write a blockbuster gworld. I presume you would be the hero? My version would have to have a twist at the end - uncovering the real corrupt porn merchant out to destroy the Internet, and the effort that went into identifying him - it wouldn't be anyone the readers would ever suspect until the finale. Bluff, double-bluff, it would all go in.
Porn merchant out to destroy the Internet. How does the people who list the affiliate pages for porn in DMOZ, make their money if they destroy the Internet?
I am just trying to help with constructive criticism. Your plot should be based on reality and not a world view that is based on your former life as cult member. There is always a real danger that you are being influenced by the cult views, even if you think that you have left the cult.
I've had professional counselling and it has been confirmed that I was never influenced by anything sinister so don't worry about me gworld.
Aren't we putting a bit too much importance on DMOZ? I've never even heard of it until I started reading these threads, and I'm certainly doing fine without it.
Exactly! Most do fine without it. This should be said more often. An ODP listing only mildly helps. There are far more important marketing tools and outlets with far more effectiveness.
DMOZ has been silently crying out for help for some time now. However, like cult leaders, the senior members of the inner sanctum won't let the Red Cross in to revive it.
