    Hi Guys,

Somebody has just purchased my ebook but they are saying they cannot view it because they are using a Mac?

    Doesnt Mac support adobe reader?

he says that when he opens the pdf file its just number and symbols

Has any other publisher come across this before? What did you do?

    Swerd,

I use Apple's preview program, to view PDF files. I have never had an issue of this nature. Luckily for exe based ebooks, I run VMware and Xp SP1 just incase something comes through that cannot be read on a mac.

I have an older Mac mini with the pre intel PPC processor chip, and a new iMac HD 24" with a dual core intel chip. Both read pdf's on preview.

Its probably a legitimate problem, most people who buy ebooks instead of googling with the word "free" before the phrase have difficulties with things like this. Walk him through how to open a .pdf or refund him.

I've seen this problem happen with people who open the file with Adobe Exchange instead of Adobe Acrobat Reader. Not sure why it happens. If they have exchange, but not Reader installed-- it'll open up exchange and the letters come out as strange symbols. It happens when I open my own ebook at work.
