I can imagine they are making a deal for both, the iPhone and the new Apple tablet. Windows 7 offers a browser ballot screen, so I guess tech savvy users could choose different browsers and default search engines, but the majority of people using Windows PCs won't bother changing search engine. Personally I like to try Bing every now and then, and sometimes compare the results. It's not a bad deal for iPhone users, and for sure it's a great deal for Apple. I searched for "Apple" on Google.com and Bing (there's a post on BeAloud.com) and found some interesting differences: Bing seems to slow to react to search trends, but Google can serve spammy results in the first page quite easily.
I would like to see apple go to Yahoo! for it's default. Or give people a choice when they first launch their iPhone. People who own a iPhone are savvy enough to change the default search anyway...
Google phone is the answer... G went head to head in competition with Apple when they released Nexus...So we are dealing with "my enemies enemy is my friend" politics
no bing replacements or any sorts were announced apart from the Apple iPad: http://www.nadzrul.com/apple/steve-jobs-unveils-the-ipad quite disappointing really
