I've just been talking to Hodge about Appendicitis. Just wondering how many of you have had it and what the doctor did when you went to see him about it?
My old roommate had it (before I lived with him), is that helpful? Or maybe the fact that I ruptured my spleen when I was 17... In the emergency room the doctor said to me... "After your MRI and CAT scan, I see you ruptured your spleen, so we are going to cut your shit open." Is that helpful?
rofl Just wondering what the doctor did to find out if you had it or not. What he did to me wasn't that pleasant.
Well, I think you are better off that it did not rupture inside of you...that can be life threatening. Plus, having a bunch of shit floating around in your body doesn't sound cool.
It did rupture inside me but only just before the doctors started operating. It took me a long while to recover and its probably about the lowest I've felt in my life.
I think Weirfire wants to know if what the guy did to him was normal. I say just because a guy is wearing a white jacket doesn't make him a doctor.
He didn't do that to me for my spleen. I was in a bad car accident, so when they took me to the emergency room, they MRI and CAT scanned me. That's how they found it.
A buddy of mine had a wee little motorcycle accident and he went to the ER because he wrenched his knee. He thought that he had also pulled a muscle in his back. The hospital staff said "Well... actually... you ruptured your spleen and if we hadn't accidentally noticed it you would have been dead in 24 hours." Nice.
My doctor thought I had appendicitis once and all he did was feel my stomach with his hands. Obviously, I didn't have it. But my grandpa had it when he was little. Actually, his appendix burst and he almost died. He doesn't remember anything except white light. But he said it was one of the worst experiences of his life.
Usually the easiest way to dedect appendictis is when you put some pressure (with your fingers) on the area where the appendix is located and release the pressure quickly. When your appendix is inflamed then you will feel a strong stinging pain and you'd better rush to hospital. Appendictis is quite serious and needs immediate attention. If there is no pain it can be something else that affected you.
