i recently made a couple extra product pages for my website. the product part #'s were sitting in the long-tail with little competition on google. i got them both indexed pretty quickly, and noticed that both were climbing the serp's to #1, then poof!, the pages disappeared. i thought maybe they were dumped in the supplementals, but the main keyword has such little competition that they would still show up, even if it's 5 or 6 pages deep. so, it looks like they were removed from the index. could this be a hand-edit? i really don't think it is, because it just doesn't make sense. i didn't use any spammy techniques..trying to narrow it down. let me know if you want a link to the pages. thanks
Dont worry, flactuation like this is very common, we all have keywords that go up and down... sometime for months !
hey this happen to me many times, just wait for some days it will be back soon. try to make some back links for that keyword. al d best
Are the pages still cached? Also do they show if you search for a unique string of text in quotes? Its probably just bounced and will show again soon, Google is setting good at that. Ten minutes ago i was #18 for the term "SEO" then five minutes ago i was #26 using the same DC. Google really needs to stop constantly tweaking things and get some stability in its index IMHO.
that's a good question trichnosis. i think they've been dropped from the index. if i was to search for the entire URL path, it doesn't even come up, so that's why i'm assuming that they've been removed from the index itself. usually, if you take a URL path, copy it, paste in the search query box, then click submit, you usually get that one page as a result, but i'm getting nothing. ...weird stuff or normal?
do a search for site:www.yourdomain.com and it will tell you exactly how many pages are indexed on your domain. http://www.google.com/search?q=site:zeropaid.com
Yeah, I usually just check webmaster tools to see how many pages I have indexed. but, that doesn't really help me. Imagine this: you find a keyword that you are converting on, but you aren't ranked for organically. You notice that there is hardly any competition on that keyword, so you get excited. You create a page for that keyword, and notice that within 24hrs you able to get it indexed, and ranked on the second page of the serp's and moving up. The very next day you check the serp's to see how your rank has increased, but you notice that the page is gone, not buried, but gone. Nowhere to be found; and to top it off, you look at your indexed pages and notice that it's not indexed anymore. weird stuff? now I'm just trying to figure out what the heck happened.
