Pepperjam is a great network and I am very happy with them.Free trial offers dont charge you money if you cancel your subscription and continuing with the your subscription is upto you and if they charge for the next month if dont cancel then it cant be unethical. Is the peperjam being held responsible because the product don’t work or because there have been unauthorized charges on credit cards with really no information on how to make them stop? The answer to both is no!!
if pepperjam allows affiliates and publishers to have products where the terms of service and billing are hidden and difficult to find , then yeah if there is fraud happening then they to are responsible. Ignorance is no excuse in the eye of the law.
??? I think that you could say the same for just about every affiliate network out there. I am willing to bet that there are more unethical marketers than there are ethical. If you are interested in staying ethical, you need to purchase and review every product that you promote. Unless you are familiar with what you are promoting, and the ethics of the companies that you are promoting, you will never know for sure. I have seen a lot of so called "scams" in every affiliate program. If you want to promote correctly, let your referrals know what to expect. Tell them that while it is a free trial, you will pay for shipping, and unless you cancel within 14 days, you will be charged this much more. How is this going to affect your affiliate sales??? Just stick to the things that you know and trust yourself. I am done with affiliate marketing. There are so many other easy ways to make money online, and I will never have to worry about promoting ethical products. Good luck!
Scams are everywhere. Some of the best selling clickbank products are scams.Affiliates will promote everything if the sales page converts and the payout is high.I first started with clickbank and some time later I thought that only way to make money is to cheat someone else.As a person who believes in ethics I began to feel very sad and decided to promote only legitimate products. Now I am improving my internet marketing skills and want to give value to the visitors.I am sure that can reach my goals.
Good advice and so true... since you no longer do affiliate marketing I am curious as to what alternative methods you are using to make money online... I'm sure a lot of us would like to hear what you're doing now... Kudos to you and Good Luck with your marketing!
Its unfortunate how various advertisers deceive consumers, specifically with advertisements stating "free trial" and subsequently without consent having billable actions on their accounts. Some advertisements out there are unethical. Its really sad.
I've been doing "business" with PepperJam for quite awhile now. They are a very reputable company and I don't see them being unethical in anyway... I will say that some of the products they list are a little "dodgy" in terms of forced continuation and such... But the company itself shouldn't be entirely to blame for this... James
This is not really a PJN issue. 1. Its the product manufacturer. But people have to read all the little fine print which says you will be rebilled. Unfortunately its is true that alot of these free offfers make it harder than it should be to cancel. My trick is this. When you finally get through to a real person ask for a supervisor and tell them unless this charge is reversed you will be issuing a chargeback via your c/card company. 1. chargebacks cost the product supplier twice as much in fees + too many chargebacks and their merchant account will be closed.
