So I ride my bike to work (20 km) several days a week for exercise. Today just happens to be one of those days. I'm about to leave for home, but am now starting to wonder if I'll make it there for a couple of reasons: It's 34 degrees celcius (94/95 farenheit), with serious smog & humidity outside. I've had several people relate stories of NFL players dying, and their friends developing heart/lung problems from exercising in this weather. I've been warned that I will die if I ride my bike home basically... My mom called me an hour ago to tell me that a family acquaintance was just hit by a truck while on her bike and killed. Now I've been warned that I will be hit by trucks. So basically I may not make it home. If I don't reply to this thread within the next hour or so, I may be dead, or in a coma, or something related. I thought of compiling a list of reasons to pull the plug (like Kramer), but I'm too lazy, and I have to get going.
i would say that biking is much harder than walking. And did I mention that I carry a 20lb backpack as well? anyhow, I made it alive (though narrowly avoided getting smoked by a red Accura and a little old lady with a walker) I'm now bringing down my core temperature with cookies n' cream ice cream
Man the last 3 days have been ridiculous here....it was like 47 celcius ( 116.6F) with the humidex*#@($)!$P@
ouch.... i would never ride a bike or move for that matter in heat like that.... it can cause chaffing... the warning is on the back of the sun... i will give you 10 million if you can get a picture of it..
I heard in the Irish news today that an Irish boxer that went to NYC collapsed with the heat, I think he is still in hospital
