Racism can be found anywhere you want to find it. To me it looks like they are speeding on performance by adding speed (runners) but if you are looking to find something to yell racism, I guess you can see black men bowing to a white man.

True racism is out shadowed by people just looking to attack companies for nonsense.

its kind of a edgy situation . Something like a "meant to be this" but "Could also mean that" kind of a case . I think Intel did right by apologizing right away and not arguing more upon it .
Personally , i think its got nothing to do with racism . :)

Well, all of those men that bows on the white guy are black... Some are really sensitive about these kinds of things.

Basically it will drop Intel’s sale, if competitor of Intel hypes this issue.

    Absolutely right.

It's the 21st century people just pick at things these day as the first person replied racism can be found anywhere these days.

People just seem to be looking for things that are not politically correct and to complain about etc.

This is just my opinion though

I don't think it's offensive. It'd be better if they used different people instead of duplicating one, though it might have looked like a united colors of benetton ad then lol.

    Same here.

Most of the world's top sprinters are black, so it is natural that the company uses a black model to depict "Speed".

They should've thought about this when they were making the ad. I cannot believe such a big company's ad agency cannot think about this while making an ad. That's so unprofessional. I think it's offensive and it wouldn't be any different if white guy was black and the black guys were white. It still would be an ad created by unprofessional, not wide thinking ad agents.

If it was the opposite; black man standing and white men bowing down then there won't be a case like this. See the difference?

How often do you hear of racism towards white people, although its just as as big a problem nobody cares. As soon as its a black, asian etc then its the worst thing in the world. If it was a black man and white athletes,
    1) Nobody would complain about racism.
    2) It wouldn't make sense since the fastest runners are black.

exactly, so by putting a white or asian as the runner, the Ads will be racist because it doesn't make sense

They probably should have used a black man for the well-dressed guy. The problem is they are trying to use sprinters to symbolize the speed that their processors have. Of course, they have to show multiple clones of that sprinter to symbolize the multiple cores in their processor. When people think of world-class sprinters, they tend to think of black men. When was the last time a white man came close to medaling in the 100m at the Olympics? They may have chosen a white guy in the middle because they wanted to seem diverse, but I can see how that might look like he is controlling the black men. If that were a black man it would be no big deal. I don't think anyone would have complained that white sprinters are underrepresented.

I don't consider the ad racist or offensive at all, and I honestly don't feel the company had anything to apologize for.

I honestly believe it would have been different if the guy in the middle was black and the runners were white. People wouldn't be yelling "racism" about a stupid advertisement that isn't racist at all.

They should have just made it all black people, or all white people.
