API returns different results than normal DCs

    Hi,

I've just put together a simple PHP app ( using nuSoap ) which takes a query string and returns the G results. But the results are different from what is returned through a normal browser search.
I've compared the results from different data centers ( using mcdars tool ) but the results being returned by the API don't show up in them.
I've tried playing with the filter / safe search settings through the API, but it's made no difference.

I've noticed a few threads in this forum and others where people complain about the same thing, but those threads all mention checking DCs and the filter / safe search etc - none of them seem to mention how, or if, the issue was resolved.

    Any suggestions?

    John

Do you have a specific URL/keyword term as an example? I've never seen the API return something that wasn't on at least one data center.

I've tried a few, but you could check with "french villa rental south of france"

    Cheers

What specific URL do you see getting wrong placement?

On a search against the google datacenters www*frenchconnections*co*uk comes first.
In the results which my test program returns, that URL doesn't appear at all!
You can see my tool at john*intranetics*co*uk/googleapi/searchGoogle.htm

    Thanks

Whatever it is, it's not the API... I just tried it with my keyword ranking tool (which uses the API) and it came back as #1 (as expected)... You can try it for yourself if you want:

Hmmm. Must be something screwed up in my code somewhere, I'll have to go back through it with a fine-tooth comb.

    Thanks for your help

Shawn is your API ranking tool not up any more? I tried to use it a few weeks ago and when I went back to the site all my keywords were gone and no tool to use.

It's been up since it was released (and never has been down).
