I have set up an Apache 2.2 server, for home use, on a Windows 10 machine. So far I have created a simple html (index) file using Expression Web 4. In the file I have this line of code: <img alt="" height="480" src="../../OneDrive/Pictures/Jean/IMG_20170410_114735.jpg" width="640"></p> The problem is, when I view the site in IE, the .jpg doesn't show. Has anybody got any suggestions please?
What happens when you change "../../" to just "../"? Or did you try using an absolute path to that imagine? src="http://localhost/image-folder/image.jpg" ?
Thanks for that. Your reply made me take another look at what I'd done. I created the web page on m y laptop and moved it to the server without changing the directory path for the image file. Dah. This is my first attempt at a site.
That's okay. Everybody was a newbie once. One thing I have found about tech people and especially programmers is that they love to help other people learn the craft. Technology people are really cool. So stop by if you have more questions or want to learn.
Just a question - is there a reason why you've selected Apache 2.2? It's fairly outdated, the latest is 2.4.3x-something, IIRC. Not that it will prevent you from learning, but it might be worth updating, and maybe look into which versions of MySQL / PHP you have installed, if you've added those too.
Thanks for that PoPSiCLe (that's difficult to type ). I have upgraded to Xampp since this was first posted.
You can just type an @ before typing pop (no spaces) and it will list people with nicks starting with pop - then just continue till you see "me", and then click that name, and it will be input in the textbox.
