I have a question, let's say I have apache installed in c:/apache and htdocs in c:/apache/htdocs.my ip is 10.10.10.1 and I am connected to the internet. How can some1 access my htdocs using the internet?I mean I publish there a file that I want to be accessed by internet users worldwide. anyway,i`m suing at the moment wamp,i thought i would manage to do this with wamp but failed... Cheers and happy new year
I think this is a wrong section to ask this, but anyway, to reach your htdocs folder someone should visit your ip adress.
dosen`t work oh,darn, you`re right, can a moderator please move this to"Site & Server Administration"...can`t believe I didn`t see that..and I have spend quite some time trying to figure it out where to write this
hmm..yes...it seems that if I install vertrigo and use apache there it works perfect, but from wamp it dosen't. Thanks a lot..cheers
If you're connected through a router, you may have to log into it and configure a virtual port... really I'm not sure what it's called, but basically you will have to tell it that requests to port 80 should be sent to your computer. Each computer on your home network will have its own IP address that is only relevant to the home network, and you will have to enter it there. I'm not very learned in this, I just feel my way through it... but most of the time the local computers' addresses have been 127.x.x.x
