Apache doesnt start after server/computer restart.
After a windows update (kb948496) my server restarted, and now its impossible to start apache. Apache, mysql and filezilla runs as services on windows 2003 server but only mysql and filezilla runs.

I have uninstalled the update it didnt work.
I installed the latest version of xampp that didnt work..

When I try to start apache from xampp contol panel it says running for about a minute, and then it stops, it doesnt seem like it ever starts though (trying to access the server from another computer).

I have checked that nothing else runs at port 80.

Havent seen any error-reports. it proably close down before any errors can be reported.

    Anybody heard of this.
    Please help

I had a similiar problem (not sure which update caused the problem) when using the windows installer version of xampp. I uninstalled the installer verrsion after backing up all the htdocs files and the database files. Then I downloaded and installed the non-installer version. I have had no problems since then.

The non installer version makes no registry entries and does not self start when you boot. I actually prefer it to the one that auto loaded.

I had similar problem too(before). What I did is manually setup them one by one.

This method is highly recommended. At least you know what you're doing :)

    Thanks.

When it comes to PHP, APACHE and MySQL. I do the manual thing and everything works fine. Atleast, I don't have to spend all my time troubleshooting the damn thing. alright later. I still have a million things to do (modelling). tah dah!!!
