AOL eAddress

Hello everyone! I was about to register a domain name for my father and my little brother wanted to help so he did it on AOL eAddress for free, not realizing that would mess everything up. I need to register this domain with my eNom account so that I can host it on my servers and make the site, but it says the domain is taken and the whois info shows AOL has it registered. How on earth do I cancel my AOL eAddress account so that I can register this myself? I wish i could just call AOL Customer Service, but they are only for paying customers.

    Any ideas how to cancel?

    THANKS!!

    Daniel Pollack

If it's already registered, you can try transferring it to enom if AOL allows it.

    Hi,

I have the same problem. I have a printed copy of the online help IM conversation that I had with a customer service rep claiming that I could cancel the service at any time. THAT WAS A LIE!

I reported the situation to iCANN. I spoke with a woman who was very interested. She said it is very easy for AOL to release the domain name and they should be required to do so. I will contact iCANN again in the near future. If AOL does not release the domain name I signed up with them, I WILL FILE A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT AGAINST THEM!

    Please contact this organization: www.icann.org

    Regards,
    Sheba
