Anything wrong in my Directory?

Hi,
I own Andros Web Directory. Its a PR3 directory having more than 1,720 backlinks and 1,400 indexed pages in Google, Alexa rank of 312,615 and PR5 predicted, BUT why i'm not earning anything from it . I've sold only couple of Featured Links and why is that so? What else is needed for my directory so that it must start earning? Please give me some info about it.

get custom design, build more backlinks until your directory have at least PR5 then you will start to earn a steady income.

I have PR4 directory, custom template with more than 100,000 backlinks but only received 4 - 5 submissions a day. Some of them I have to reject due to not compliance with my guidelines.

man I donot receive that much in a given month
but that has to do with the quality of the directory too: isn't it
I am trying to improve quality of my directories too.

 

you need to get targetted traffic too. My directory received 600 - 700 visitors a day.

So the first thing is :

Make it popular - Let everybody know that androsweb.com exist on net. Also make it such people talk about it.
Let people know that ilogak owns andros web directory...

Make your directory popular, get it to a high PR list, get custom design and then see your directory rocking

 

I get 10-20 submissions daily but I also reject some sites due to low quality sites or subdomains and others. And traffic is about 2k uniques per month.

 

I've bought lots of links from PR5 sites and blog posts, and working on a custom design.

 

At PR3 it is hard to get paid listing, there are too many free directories out there. You have a free template up and it looks like you are using a standard category dump. Try and make your site a little unique.

PR4 reallys seems to be the rank needed to start getting paid submissions unless you have a really strong reputation in this business.

Ok, I just did a quick bit of research on your site, so you have 1 back link in Google and 1,713 in Yahoo.

Unfortunately this isn't enough in todays market. You need to work on increasing your back links and picking up some targetted traffic.

Directory Share is also a PR3 directory and I make a few sales a week, the big difference is that I have 449 back links in Google and over 110,000 in Yahoo. People can see that the site is being promoted and can see that there is some value there despite the low PR.

 

is it paid submissions or free? If you got 10 - 20 paid submissions, you have nothing to complaint, but I guess it is free submission right? Promote it well, and turn it to paid directory and you will earn more.

 

Why would there be so much of a difference of backlinks in google and yahoo?

 

I see that you have a free Regular & paid featured option. People are not going to pay for featured if they are not going to get something extra.
You are accepting featured as well as regular submission in top categories so why someone will pay he can get it for free.

Two things you can do are.
1) In Top categories, only Accept featured listings.
2) Add "Deep Link" mod for featured listings only, ..... (Best bet to get featured links)

I am not getting much of submissions after last promotional offer. I guess its time to get a custom design and wait for the next update

 

i recently did that to my directory.. deep links are only available if you purchase a featured, think thats a good way of selling more links.

 

Well for starters, has anyone mentioned to get some seo friendly urls?
Or is everyone just trying to play 'professional marketer' for you, by offering their 'professional' advice, without even really looking at your directory as you had initially requested?

 

Google only exports it's back links every fews months, just like the PR. And even then it doesn't show them all.

 

I tried to make it SEO friendly but it gave me error i tried again and again but nothing while I tried the same in www.castleinternet.com and it works fine

Yes I get free submissions daily no paid at all. If I make it a paid directory will I get anything from it? Where can I get the deep link mod ?

 

Anon offers the deep link mod with 24/7/365 service mine are free with reciprical and paid w/o reciprical

 

i dont know what could be the problem but a good idea would be reinstall and upload the database to use.

also you need to promote it more ... as before the day of today i didn't kno it existed

 

This could be the very reason why you aren't doing well.

Other than that, selling links on a PR3 directory is rather difficult these days. But your is predicted PR5, so if people know it, they should buy some links. I think I will grab some

But I try to make it SE friendly ASAP before the next update. *At least 1 month before the update to get PR on a new page
