Well so far I've been using craigslist and it turns to be very powerful marketing tool to my auto related site , but I am getting stuck with it . Now I am looking for a new vive out there that can help me grab some visitors . Any tips ?
I don't believe any of them can touch Craig's list for traffic or response. If you can do what you want and stay in their good graces you can't beat them. Try some others and you'll see what I mean. To do any good with most of them you have to spend money to upgrade. donrock
I am disappointed with Gumtree I put some unique physical objects for sale with repeat ads for three weeks on and nobody replied.
If everyone wants what you put up and no one called then perhaps the price was too high or the description was unappealing. Trust me, when you are selling something for near its value it will sell on Craigslist (if you live in a big city) and it will usually sell fast. thallewell
Posted on Craigslist, USFreeads and Gumtree last week. All got indexed inside 48 hours. Gumtree is providing the most visitors. The ad is a soft-sell invitation to visit my finance website.
For the exposure and free traffic you get, Craiglist & Gumtree are stunning free traffic & sales generation tools. I have someone post on there regularly for my info-products and am quite pleased at the response. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Do you really want traffic with web 2.0? I have had some success with http://www.backpage.com/ mainly because they partner with local weekly newspapers to offer classified ads to their readers which seems to bring in more quality posts and less spam.
There's a lot of good information here. I'm still finding CL to be quite useful due to the sheer amount of traffic especially in the larger cities.
