Anyones Rankings Just Sunk?

No change at all, the site still has all it's pages indexed and Google Bot is crawling it for hours on end as usual. The only thing it ranks for is it's domain name so everything points to a glitch with Google's data push rather than a penalty or ban.

I've just been talking to someone from Google, so hopefully i'll have some positive news soon.

 

How did you reach someone from Google? Please update on this. Thanks!

 

Many of my sites have dropped in the serps as well in the past two weeks. One in particular went from #4 to #94 in a matter of seconds for its primary keyword.

 

It definatly sounds like a google penalty. If they went down a a couple of spots or a page then it's normal, but the fact that you lost every keyword and the site totally flopped makes it sound like you got punished.

 

same thing happened to two of my sites about a week ago. I checked them today and they are back on the first page for their keywords....actually they are higher on the first page than before.

 

I had this happen to me one my main site on January 21st. I lost like 75% off my traffic because I get most of it from natural searches. It is slowly coming back up now, but it is not where it used to be and hopefully it will recorrect itself soon.

 

google is driving me nutts. two 3-4 year old sites i'm working on getting ranked, they keep bouncing back and forth and then disappear for a week and come back for few days then vanish again. i'm going crazy

 

There changes in Google that's why.. but as of today the rankings went back to normal...

This whole thread makes me think the google monopoly is not a healthy thing.

 

If it's youngher then 1 year "Google Dance" wait 1-2 weeks it should come back

 

Well I just checked in a moment of pure panic and my sites seem to be steady. I hate when you can't find out what it is you've done wrong. I know a friend's site was penalized when he bought some content. His site was cut off from the ads because some of his articles were dupes.

 

Wow I hope the guy you have contacted at google can shed some light...


My term was number 2 for months, then its page 9, then its page 4, yesterday avo I was top of page 2 in 11th, now im on page 4 again!!!

This is all within a day or two!

 

This is temporarily things. I cannot predict when Google search results will come back to normal but this seems to effect only Google.com based in USA. If you access to Google.com (english) from other countries you will see different (sometimes completely different) in search results which reflect your real site ranking. I suggest you guys should check your site ranking at SEOChat Multiple Datacenter Keyword Position Check. I bet you will see completely different search results in many keywords through Google DC's directly. You can see your site ranking trends by combined with "allinanchor" or "allintitle" and see how it goes. This type of fluctuate had happened in the beginning of January 2008 and it took 4 days before results came back to normal. Now it took more than 4 days and don't know when it will end. If your site ranking still good in Google DC's directly so don't panic. Your results will come back according to results you see in SEOChat tools I suggested.

That is an invalid statement. No penalty, just a roll-back. Please check at SEOChat Multiple Datacenter Keyword Position Check as I suggested in previous post to see your site ranking. You will see different results in many keywords in there. Most of sites which ranking just climbed up recently has wiped out to 100+ position in Google.com US while seeing some old sites which never ranked top 10 around a year come up in results but gone under top 100 when checked through Google DC's directly. Seems like they have roll-back to around one months ago and will come back to normal soon.

You may try out by go to Google.com (english) using other countries IP and you will surprise to see results in some keyword which different (or completely different) compared to Google.com results in USA. Most of these results are reflected accordingly to results in Google DC's directly.
