Anyone's Cheque Ever Lost In Mail?

It's 18th today and I still havent got my March earnings cheque (sent on April 26). I think it has been lost in mail - most of the people seem to have received their cheques in first week of April. I will have to wait till 25 till I can apply again.

Anyone has similar experiences (especially with Indian postal service) ?

When can I expect to get the new cheque if I write to Google on 26th?

i've written to them asking for a new cheque before. in my case, my cheque was torn. what they do is that they'll cancel the previous cheque and mark it in the system as cancelled. you then get the amount added into the next billing cycle. :)

there was a small charge involved when they cancelled my torn cheque. :(

How "small" was the charge... small is a relative word...what may be small for a $10000 cheque may be big for a $100 cheque :p .

There were communal riots in my city in beginning of May and many post office employees didnt go to work for many days. It is possible that some temporary worker may have misdirected the cheque to a wrong address. I am still hoping that I will get it somehow.

Very true that "small" is a relative word.

A "small" charge of, say, USD10 for a UD125 cheque is "big".

sachin, in 2005 I had 3 lost check during mail (use regular mail), and I asked GA to reissue the checks in one cummulative check. And they granted it.
I never lost the check since I use DHL.

Where in India are you from? I am from Chennai and I usually receive their cheque during the first week of the month (via ordinary mail). If your payment if big enough, you can opt to receive it via DHL for which I think G charges $25
