Are there any people here who earn enough income promoting blogs, affiliate programs etc., to where they can rely on it as a consistent source of income? Just trying to get a general idea of if this can be successful before I start devoting a lot of time to it.

Mate, its a struggle but some people do make a living at it. The secret, as I see it, is to have Traffic - without decent traffic you're dead in the water. Marcus Frind of the free dating site Plentyoffish.com (and you can read about him on my site) makes $10k a day from Google Adsense. But he gets something like 10 Million hits a day. Even he says "with this sort of traffic I could be selling dogfood online and still make money". Affiliate marketing is the way to go. Read my thread on Affiliate Elite - also on my site. Cheers, malkie

There are thousands that do. Try it part time and see how it goes, if it replaces your full time work then do it full time.

Work full time on your wage and part time on your fortune.

More than thousands, there are millions and millions of people all over the world making a living working from home. I'm not saying these people are making $1000 a day (although believe me there are a lot who are) but it is definately possible to make $400+ a week internet/affiliate marketing. You just have to have dedication, stick with an idea and work on it.

It can be successful IF you devote a lot of time to it. Many people on this forum make a full time living.

It does help if you are in a lower cost of living city.

Everyone here makes good points. I have been marketing online since 1995 and while doing so I also ran my own construction business and then a financial planning business before going full time a few years ago.

Just in eBay alone there are thosands of people making a good living, and I am talking about eBay affiliates not people selling on eBay.

Just remember, like any business it requires, work, sacrafice, and dedication to be successful. I still put in 12 and 14 hour days when I am working on important projects.

I left a marketing job two years ago to promote affiliate programs. It can be done, have some ups and downs, but if you can stay committed you can do it.
