Do you think Forums are Profitable ? i think if it is a big Forums with lots of posts and members , it surely is ..works great with Adsense I also think it is because for each post , there is a different adsense ad , the content varies with the Posts , so the ads also which can make you earn more .. Give your opinions plz .. thx
However, forums require you to put a lot of effort into building them. Don't get your hopes up on getting your forum as big as DP. Try anyway though.
The CTR of forums as oppossed to a normal site is also historically much lower. That means that, while your ads are more varied, you might still not get many clicks. A forum can be profitable, but like most things, it takes work.
The forums need to be coupled with front sites. I own three big-boards.com listed forums, and they each make $xxx daily, but IMO only because they each have front sites fllled with 1,000s of pages of static content. If the front sites were removed and the forums were left to earn on their own, these sites would barely bring in low to mid $xx. despite being fairly huge.
ive been here for less than ten posts and ive already got information overload.. n guess wat im hooked and i still want more.. []
Forums have lucrative earnings but one needs to put a lot of resources into developing them. I think paid membership or upgrade forums are better than just general membership ones.
How did you manage to make 3 forums with front sites consisting of 1000s of pages of static content for each?
I've got a forum which gets approx. 100,000 page views a month, and takes up heaps of my time ( I have to do the majority of the posts ) and I only make between $1 - $5 per day with google adsense, definately a lot of work for a little money
Thats about 150 daily visitors.. I have a forum with 100 daily and I got $7 per day from my ads. Im not using AdSense or YPN. Maybe you should seek a new way to make money with your forum.
If you want a successful forum which gets good clicks is DP. I remember in a past articles, he said he gets over a $1000
