Even if you are opening as company you need to have SSN number. and that can only be have if you are paying tax to us government.

I am not in US. Although I have a US bank account, it is impossible to use YPN.

No, I don't have a US company neither. However, it is still possible to open a brokerage account.

You can set up an LLC.

    1. That is a simple process that is a single form in California.
    2. Once you have your LLC, you can get an EIN (employer ID number) which is the SSN equivilent for a business.
    3. Sign up with Yahoo.

    * Your LLC will be an entity in the United States, subject to all laws, including paying taxes on your income. In California, the minimum yearly tax is $800, even if you don't do anything.

    * To set up an LLC in the US, you will be required to designate someone in (california in this example) to be agent for service of process (i.e. getting sued)

There are many companies that will get you all set up and act as your agent for necessary requirements. I have not had to use any, so I have no recommendation or suggestions...but I will look for some links.

Also, I live in California, but Nevada or other states may have easier requirements and lower taxes.

to use YPN you are supposed to be a US Company. They ask for a SSN or EIN, SSN are used by sole proprietors, but if you have an incorporated company you use an EIN. An Employer Identification Number, you get this number from the IRS when you create a company in the US with another member who is a US citizen.

If you create a company in your country without a US citizen as a partial owner then you can still do business in US but the IRS will not give you an EIN they will give you a ITIN, or an International Tax Identification Number, this will not be sufficient to join YPN.

You either need to be a legal resident of the US or start a company with a legal resident of the US.

    Where is that a requirement?

It may be, but I am unware of any such requirement. Of course, I have never set up an LLC for a non-US citizen.

As far as I know, for a C class inc. it doesn't have to be a citizen, even a resident it's OK. And for an LLC (which is more suitable, even for taxes, you don't have to pay taxes on dividends) you can create a company by yourself without any need of a partner. All you need is a state agent to represent you ( around $125 a year). The fees to create a company is around 250-350.

Consult legal council for legal advice, a forum is nto the place to do so. To the best of my knowledge you have to be a US resident or citizen, or one of the owners must be a US resident or citizen in order to incorporate in the US, and get an EIN.

I think you can use a Tax Identification Number (TIN) if you are a company, np :) Too much trouble to go for though to use YPN..

Not in California, a foriegn entity or person can form a valid Calfornia LLC:

    CORPORATIONS CODE
    SECTION 200-213

    200. (a) One or more natural persons, partnerships, associations or
corporations, domestic or foreign, may form a corporation under this
division by executing and filing articles of incorporation.

Lots of work just to get a YPN account ;) You could go ahead and try but here's some advice:

    - Acceptance into YPN is not guaranteed. There are many US based applicants still waiting to get in. Just because you go through the whole process of setting up a company and obtaining a valid EIN or TIN doesn't mean YPN will accept you.

    - Opening a US bank account if you're not in the US is next to impossible.

    - Staying in YPN is also not guaranteed. Even if you get into YPN you could be banned at anytime.
