Anyone who can help me optimize my Adsense?

Hello, I run an investment-blog/article/guide website and I would love to hear some input on my adsense placements since this is my very first one where I've used ads at all. :) I know I have pretty bad stats... that's why I am asking for advice on how to improve it, and I know that there are great people here who have been very helpful in the past, so here are my stats real quick:

    Bounce % = 48
    Impressions so far = 5120
Clicks so far (on ads) = 50
    Adsense Revenue ($) = 11

    The link: Investing Guides.

Does anyone have any concrete tips on how to improve my lousy Click-Through-Rate? :S

Looks like your placement, colour, etc. look pretty good to me. However, I think the issue may be more along the lines of your keyword (presumably 'investing guides') not having a very high commercial intention. Non-commercial intention of 63% according to MSN adlabs.

What I mean by that is that most people searching for that term aren't looking to purchase anything, there not too interested in clicking on advertisements.

May well just not be a good market for adsense... I'd try monetizing with a different strategy.

    Cheers,
    CcK

I think you should have at least 1 adsense ad above the fold.
make a split test for a 1 week, move the 250ad on the firt post and see what happends, also change the color of the add from black to blue.

Won't that make it look more like an... "ad" ? Haha, you know what I mean. Or is that actually a good thing?

dude you links on the left are blue and your adsense ads are black and because they are black they dont look like links but like content and that is bad IMO.

to be able to get click people need to know what links are! and if your linking theme is blue then I suggest make the adsense ads blend with the flow of your color scheme and in this case is blue

    good luck
