Anyone watch American Idol tonight? Sanjaya's hair!!

The second I saw Sanjaya with his 'ponyhalk' or whatever they called it, I just kept saying OMG, OMG, OMG over and over again. I've never seen anything so stupid in my life!

Apparently there's a woman with a blog who is starving herself until he gets kicked off American Idol. I'm tempted to join the hunger strike. This guy can't sing, and his attitude sucks.

Am I the only one who finds him repulsive?

I saw it, it was kind of weird the pony tail mowhawk. I didn't like that to much, I'm more of a preppy kind of person.

My teen daughter was literally covering her eyes. She couldn't stand to look at him.

If there is any justice, he'll be gone tonight. Otherwise, I'll have to conclude that the American voters don't have a clue.

You mean you haven't already figured out that American voters don't have a clue?

    It's not a singing contest, it's a popularity contest.

And you really think he is THAT popular?

Its already been established that there are many "vote for the worst" people, who just vote for the worst every single episode... Seems like their numbers are rising

That's why they say, "Variety is the spice of life." :) We all have different tastes.

I watch it because I enjoy seeing the next Jennifer Hudson (later won an Oscar) or Carrie Underwood (multiple Grammies) emerge from obscurity.

By the way, there is a great talent-show story from the old days that will mean something to the "older" generation like me. The famed Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York, used to have its own amateur talent show. The then-unknown Pearl Bailey only won second prize in her talent show. She had the misfortunate timing of going up against another unknown ... named Ella Fitzgerald!
