Not bad for your first CSS website...

However, the loading time seems slow.... You might want to reduce any possible graphics file sizes to increase the loading speed. You might also want to consider putting in some interactive features such as epoll or chat box to better engage your readers.

    Cheers!

P/S: By the way, I like the baby appeared in the banner.

Everything loaded pretty quickly for me - I have a broadband connection. Nice clean site. You may want to reduce the size of the picture banner just a little so you can get more information above the fold. I was also confused by your graphic next to the story "Chemotherapy After Breast Cancer Surgery Effective for Older Women, Too". If she is what you consider an 'older woman' - I'm in BIG trouble!! ;) Great job, best wishes!

Great first job. Create a larger padding for your top new stories, and featured article. I also wouldn't bother indenting the paragraphs. Also, if you are going to have a Feature Article section you should have a link or way to find previous featured articles. These articles are commonly what people return to your site for, and if they are hard to find they will most likely look for it somewhere else.

Sounds like she or he is strying to sell their own ad space. Not the most effective way to sell it though, and kind of expensive. I'm guessing 3 page views per person, making the price about a buck cpm without rotation. Before using email forms to try and sell ad space, I would try calling just ten prospects to see what their responses are. Emailing will be about 1/10 as effective.

If you are getting 15k a month I would imagine your are at least getting one request a month from people seeking to advertise on your site. That should be good enough, because after about 4 or 5 months you ad space should be pretty filled assuming your visitors numbers stay the same.
