What would be the point of using one method of getting traffic ONLY?

Photos suck for driving traffic in most situations because the traffic is not targeted. Much better ways imo.

You could get some traffic from google image search if you do this the right way. Google's image bot crawls the web and indexes all of the pages it can find. Since it cannot "see" images, so it only takes them based on a number of factors, for instance descriptive image name and website relevancy:

    - Make your image file name keyword rich. Include the keywords you want to rank high in the file name.
    - Alt tags should have keywords. They should describe what the image is about.
    - Put your keywords in the image title tag – It is shown when the user hovers over the image.

I use this simple method consequently and i get some (targeted) traffic from it.

Actually i do. For example, i have a soccer fan site. Everyweek, we make funny flyers against the team playing against us and upload it to fan pages about this soccer team and tag as many people as we can. Believe me, people really laught about it and come back to the site were we host ALL of the funny posters.

Also, on player's birthdays, we make a poster with a photo of the player and a Happy Birthday message and we also upload it to facebook and tag people.

On both cases, users leave comments, "i like" them and visit the site.

I guess if you have a Ferrari cars site, you can upload photos to a Ferrari fan page and tag people and include in a lowe corner the url of your site.

    Thanks, fuser

My wallpaper website gets most of its traffic from Google Images even though I never optimized it for that. I don't think traffic from Google Images is that useful because most of the time they just click through right to the image and skip over your website entirely.

I had used flickr to promote my website, and the result is good. But now Yahoo had banned my flickr account.

I will suggest you other way to promote your website. Use Google image. The Google image bring me some value traffice everyday. The way is very simply. Just used some keyword to named the product' image name instead of named them with "image 1" "image 2" or other no-sence words.

Just try it, and you will find it work.
