It´s not! The idea of VCCs is to make onlineshopping more secure so people don´t have to give out their real CC-info to every small webshob which only accepts CC as payment options. They are not meant for people who don´t qualify for a CC. Of course their exist companies and single persons who sell VCCs (generated from their own bank accounts or CCs) but this is not the idea. Also their are companies which are allowed to sell those VCCs and www.www-card.com is one of them for example. But Entropay is more secure then www-card because they take the ID`s so they know the actual cardholder is "buying" VCCs and not a hacker with some stolen CC-info. And one more thing: virtual CCs are not available by every bank, I don´t know ANY German bank which issues VCCs and also there are not many in Europe
I dont know what is wrong with "HELLFIRE81" he makse conclusion without reasoning: wwwcard.com, sends fax to your bank to verify the identity and a card holder trying to buy vcc from their site and yet you say entropay is more secure cos they ask for passport and ID and even a scanned copy of credit card used? with this I conclude: YOU ARE AN ENTROPAY ADVERTISER...moderator please not this faceless id: HELLFIRE81 he has been misleading people and saying what he does not know about... crazy crab!!!
How can they verify by sending a fax to the bank?! You really don´t know what you are talking. If they just have the CC-info and fax anything to the bank, how can they verify it´s the actual cardholder? NOT POSSIBLE!!! I don´t advertise Entropay. I just tell my opinion and that´s it. And what you want from mods?!?!
It would have been better you ask us to educate you more. when I first created my account with www.www-card.com I got the virtual card instantly. when I try to use the card i got a message, "your card is invalid. when I sent message to their support, I was told they have fax my credit card issuer for verification that unless they get a positive reply, I could not use their service. A day after I got a call from my bank asking if I used my credit card recently on the wwwcard and ask for my details. I gladly answered YES And am sure my bank responded to them...same day i got an email from wwwcard saying i could purchase a new card from their website. They never asked me to send passport copy etc. I have read and confirm where, the so called www.entropay.com would ask for Passport copy, proof of address and the scanned copy of the credit card used. This is too much asking...and am sure www.worldwide-virtual-visacards.com who does not even require you to buy from them using credit card, by accepting ATM deposit in various countries, e-gold, liberty reserve etc will sell more amongst the common people who can not even bost of a credit card to get just a VCC In all i give kudos to wwwcard and worldwide.
Oknus, they ask for these details to verify you are who you are. Although, you can still change your name and address on your cards. Loverctgu, no, you can only load your entropay VCC with another credit/debit card.
Good for them, if thats their method of knowing who you are BUT the issue here www.card.com got a better way of doing it and unfaithful staffs at entropay and all others who ask for such document would misuse your document. Have you ever thought where the theft on identity ever come from? you think just the scammers alone? most trusted sites with ill-minded staffs too. Do need send all those document to get just vcc, if you are opening a bank account in your own country, you may do BUT for a vcc pls go to: www.wwwcard.com and if you dont want to send valid document to be compromised or do not even qualify or afraid to even use your credit card online go to: www.worldwide-virtual-visacards.com take it or leave it I know what am talking about here.

I think he was just providing more info about how safe entropay is ... Personally I have never used any of them. But having read 4 pages of this topic, I just want to ask: Is it still possible to verify Paypal and ebay using those sites mentioned above?
Guys im using entropay here and they asked me for no ID Also i managed to verify paypal im guessing this is a country thing some countrys like nigiria and indonesia are considered less safe (70%+ chargebacks)
About a year ago I opened a VCC account with Entropay as I had moved to Australia and paypall wouldn't allow me to do payments abroad with my EU linked credit card. Recently I received an email explaining that they would put my account in "dormant" mode because I haven't used the account for over 6 months, and I'll be able to activate it again for a fee of US$5. So far no problem. Now I want to reinitialize my account again and when I log in it requests me to enter personal details in order to verify my identity. When I do this with correct details, which I had written down, it refuses the information I entered, saying that it is incorrect. I have no doubt whatsoever that this info is correct because I kept it in my records. I then follow the instructions and contacted support@entropay.com, they reply to me with an email asking for the same personal verification details. So I reply them with these details. As I didn't get any response, I send them another email asking for some feedback. They came back to me with the exact same email they sent to me the first time... a bit of a strange reply, but I responded by answering those same questions again. A day later I receive a reply from Entropay with the same questions again, so I respond again with the answers/details. The next day I get the same email again... now this is getting a bit weird I think, but I keep answering them with my personal details, only to get the same email again and again and again etc. (see email below) So this by now I'm sure this system is clearly put in place to put people off and make them go away. But I'm not going to back down and let them take my money that easily. Just imagine what kind of money Entropay can make by taking the left overs of each account that hasn't been used anymore or from people that cannot verify their details anymore due to error/forgetting. Anyway, I was hoping to warn people to make sure they take their money out of Entropay before their accounts get put into "dormant" or should I say "steal" mode . I will file a complaint with the UK OFT (Office for Fair Trading) as I'm fed up with these kind of dirty business practices. I would also like to ask people for insights on who else I can contact to file an official complaint about this or help me with this. (I am based in Australia) P.S. It seems I'm not the only person that this happens to: webhostingtalk.com/archive/index.php/t-220428.html%3Ewhere%20to%20get%20a%20%3Cem%3Emerchant%20account%3C/em%3E%20with%20%3Cem%3Ebad%20credit%3C/t-395402.html Maybe I get lucky like him and get some Entropay internet censorship consultant to respond and take action to rectify their public image. ****The email I received too many times by now:**** > ----- Original Message ----- > From: support@entropay.com > Sent: 05/07/09 09:43 am > To: <cut>@hotmail.com > > Subject: RE: EntroPay Account Inactivity Notification > > > EntroPay > > Hi <cut>, > Please send an email to support@entropay.com with the following information: > 1. Last 4 digits of personal credit card. > Once this information has been verified by our Customer Service Team we will re-activate your account. > Regards > Michelle > EntroPay Support > >
Unixus, do they have any kind of phone number you can ring? That is very strange you keep getting the same reply back. Alternatively, you can try contacting another support email for them. If this comes to no avail, then I would certain get in contact with OFT, and trading standards possibly? As they are also regulated by the Financial Services Authority, I'd imagine they would be a good one to contact as well. Best of luck with recovering your funds!
Well that's the annoying thing, there's no way to contact them by phone it seems. The only way of contacting them that I'm able to find on their website is an email address. Thanks for your advise about trading standards Ian, I'll look into it as well.
