    You follow a lot of people and then they others follow you.
    It really hasn't done much for me though, following 627 and I have 216 followers.
    I suggest you use mrtweet.net it's trustworthy and a great (extremely easy) way to follow people.
    The more you follow the more followers you get.

    I think twitter is the going to be the way of the future for celebrities to get more personal with their fans, but other then that I dont think as business solution it would be a good advice. Kind of like have a business have a facebook. Whats the purpose of it? There only high school kids and college teens on there, you think they are going to care about someone me selling my ebook, or promoting my website. I doubt it. Those are not the areas you want to be in, I think in Google Adwords is the best solution. :)

    i have to disagree with you...while twitter is not a one stop shop business solution, it is a very effective tool to have in your marketing arsenal if you know how to use it.

    I just follow people that are in my niche. I found a great way to get some people to follow you that are interested in your niche. I run a technology blog, so I searched a famous technology blog (engadget) on wikipedia. Then I found the owner of the site, and followed him on twitter. Now i can see all 7000 people that are following him, and I am slowly following 7000 tech blog fans.


    Also: I made a twitter page on my blog that has a link to my profile.
