I am setting up a review site with ReviewAzon. Since its going to be dupe content I doubt it will get SEO traffic, so thinking about Adwords. Do you have any experience with sending traffic to a review page and conversions?
I don't know about reviewazon, but there are plenty of associates successfully using ppc to promote their sites. You just can't send the traffic directly to Amazon. Good luck with your campaign. thnx, PuReWebDev
I'm interested in trying out Google Adwords as well. I just opened my amazon store at surfpimp.net. Also experimenting with using Twitter, will post later with more info.
I use PPC almost exclusively to promote Amazon products. In fact, that is how ReviewAZON was born, out of a need for me to create product landing pages and complete control over how I create and configure them. In fact, I have a custom product landing page for sale right now on Warrior Forum for the Wii Sports Resort game which is going to be one of the Hottest games for the 2009 holiday selling season. The landing page is actually a custom wordpress theme that I have designed along with custom graphics. There is only 11 more available so if you are interested in promoting this product this year, this is a great way to get started. Btw, You don't need ReviewAZON to use this wordpress theme. Check it out here: Wii Sports Resort Mini-Site Wordpress Theme Best, Brad
Typically I get anywhere from 3-5%, but during the holidays is where you really make good money. I had one product last year that I promoted and made $6000 off $280 of ad spend. Ironically enough, the traffic was almost entirely from Yahoo PPC. Best, Brad
You need to read more about Amazon & PPC Amazon does not allow PPC for direct links to their site. They allow PPC to your site using a Astore or other authorized script such as AOM.
Just for clarification, there is no authorized script, the rule is that you don't send ppc traffic directly to their site, all other websites are ok. There is no permission or authorization necessary for all other sites/scripts. thnx, PuReWebDev
I don't see how it's even possible to make such returns on investment given the tiny commission Amazon give you. You must have a massive CTR from your landing pages to the Amazon product pages and a massive conversion ratio, otherwise I do not see how this is possible.
Hehe, yeah that would be pretty freaking amazing! I guess I should have gone back and read that after I made the post. It should be $2800 instead of $280. Sorry for the confusion. This particular product was red hot last year and sold out in stores so it was easy to get conversions. Thanks for pointing that one out, teapoint. Also, toward the end of the campaign, I added eBay auction listings just trying new things out and made extra money there as well. I wished I had tried that in the beginning because I could have made tons more. Best, Brad
That is against the Terms of Service. You can read Amazon's TOS without joining the program; just by going to the Associates site at https://affiliate-program.amazon.com and clicking Operating Agreement (you can find it in the lower box at the right). Most questions are answered there, although it is not a model of clear English.
