Was wondering if anyone uses magento to sell digital products, maybe use it with clickbank?

I have some software I would like to sell online, currently I have my own script but magento has a lot of nice extensions I can use to make it look better.

Any experience/feedback would be greatly appreciated

Try Prestashop also, Its much easier to work with.

If you are not selling 1000's of products than prestashop works better than Magento

    Hi folks,

My personal opinion is to go with Magento if you are serious about your webshop. If you put all selection criteria next to each other, it will turn out that Magento cart is a fully-fledged eCommerce platform.

well just by viewing http://www.prestashop.com/demo/ in Firefox, it seems clear that Prestashop is no good

I have used magento and it's an absolute pain in the butt if you want to heavily customise a website. If you're quire happy with the default layout and just need to change fonts and colours, go for it. there is LOADS of in-built features and a community of extensions. so yea, i would recommend magento. but like i said - if you plan to heavily customise it or you want some "abnormal" cart behaviour (i.e you want it to do something that it doesnt do by default), be prepared for plenty of headaches and possibly outsourcing to a programmer.
