I've been running wordpress for awhile now and I must say its nice, but its missing lots of cruical things that other scripts like Joomla can deliver. I run a technology blog and with a custom theme I hope to expand to a wider area of people. So I was just wondering if anyone blogs with Joomla... you like it? Terrible? I'd love to know.
Never needed anything else after meeting with Wordpress... lol.. what are the "crucial" features wordpress is missing supposedly?
Okay well I guess its hard to say "crucial" but the fact the Joomla is so much more powerful in the fact the the admin control panel has much more control and ability. For example... using RokBridge I was able to merge both a Joomla and a PhpBB3 user database together... you login one place you automatically log in the other. You logout on the forums, you log out on the blog, automatically. Don't think thats possible with Wordpress. Though Wordpress does offer big plugins, your pretty much stuck to getting a good theme and letting it work. The extra-customization in Joomla is so much more powerful. Don't get me wrong, Wordpress is good, but I need something better.
In that case, save yourself time and buy vBulletin bundled with the blog module, you'll have everything managed in one place, really.
I don't use Joomla for blogging, but I use it for one of my sites and really like it once I figured it out. If you are going beyond just blogging (as you suggest), it is a great CMS with tons and tons of modules that you can add.
